Ping!
I don’t think all preists are pedos, nor do I think that the church condones such crimes. However, I do wonder why the church handles these situations so slowly and so terribly!?!?!? Does not make sense.
It is absolutely sick to make this implication. If the RCC had not shuffled around its pedo priests, sending them to new parishes; if the RCC had not covered up the problem for so many years; if the RCC had not made the victims feel like it was THEIR fault, then the Nazis would not have had anything to criticize.

The more things change...
I wonder if our modern day national socialist sympathizing “journalists” will learn the lesson of history? Of course not. Even if they know the history, they don’t believe that history applies to them (cf socialism will work if we just try it again with their people in charge).
No, the implication is that modern journalists are doing the same thing as the Nazi journalists, namely distorting the facts, re-hashing old cases that have long been dealt with, ignoring that the Church handles these better now, ignoring that the pedophile problem is no worse in the Church than in other organizations, etc.
But hey, hyperbole is fun, esp on a Friday, so have at it!
If that upsets you, then the following events, caught on videotape and taking place right now across the US, should really make you mad.

And if you believe this problem is unique to the 0.3% of priests in the Catholic Church, then open your eyes to the reality of what is going on your local school district and surrounding community.

Introvigne says that Goebbels' campaign followed the same pattern seen in recent media attacks on the Church. Although it was based on a few real cases that had come to light in 1936, and far fewer that the number of cases currently being discussed from mostly the 1960s and 70s, it exaggerated their extent and attempted to revive them after they had already been resolved, in an attempt to discredit Catholics.

Thanks for posting this, NYer.
Yes, it does makes sense. The Church handled these problems about as badly as most organizations do. It’s made of people, and people are flawed.
It actually does better now, too, unlike many organizations the LSM hasn’t targeted who therefor ignore the problem.
I have posted before that I think the RCC priests are by and large good men who do a lot of good.
That said, the truth is the Nazis of old and the anti-Catholics of today couldn’t be getting all this leverage out of this issue if the RC hierarchy hadn’t handled the abuse and allegations so poorly.
For too long, the Church thought it could hide its corruption and intimidate secular authorities. Now that these perversions have been exposed, housecleaning is FINALLY taking place. The high-hat wearers can no longer hide their malfeasance in the 21st century, nor are they as powerful in shutting people up.
Any Catholic who denies the above mentioned corruption and perversion is either blind or stupid, and made even more foolish when they parrot the high-hats line that they are being "persecuted." Welcome the the 21st century, padres!
WOW!
Gee, it would be a lot easier to not have its priests being accused of being pedophiles if they actually worked to get rid of the ones that were. Just a thought....
Good point!
“The implication is that if ANYONE criticizes the way the RCC handles its pedo priests, they are just like the Nazis.
It is absolutely sick to make this implication”
Exactly. Playing the Nazi card over this issue is pathetic and transparent.
But what the church did was bad too .. .shuffling around priests to different parishes, threatening the victims to keep quiet, etc.
The vast majority of priests are moral people and it only takes a few to tar everyone. Nevertheless, the not too subtle attempt to associate critics of the institutional failure of the Roman Catholic Church to do more to rid herself of these pedophiles with Nazis is more than pathetic. It is disgraceful.
