FLASH!! POSTED TUESDAY EVENING, JULY 06, 2010 - Events across the United States and Canada on the evening of Sunday, July 04, 2010.
Over the last 48 hours, NUFORC has received almost 100 similar reports of very peculiar events, which have been witnessed across the U. S. and Canada on July 4th, and perhaps on July 3rd, as well. The sightings are a phenomenon for which we have no ready explanation. Many of the reports from both days have been submitted by seemingly serious-minded individuals, many of whom apparently witnessed the events with multiple other witnesses present.
To date, we have received reports of the phenomenon from the following U. S. states and Canadian provinces: California; Connecticut; Washington, D.C.; Florida; Georgia; Illinois; Indiana; Kentucky; Massachusetts; Manitoba; Michigan; Minnesota; Missouri; North Dakota; Nebraska; New Jersey; New York; Ohio; Oklahoma; Pennsylvania; Tennessee; Texas; Virginia; Vermont; and Washington State.
The reports are similar, in that the witnesses have described seeing strange red, orange, or yellow “fireballs,” which have been seen either to hover in the night sky, or to streak overhead, sometimes individually, and on some occasions in clusters. In some instances, the objects were observed against a clear, cloudless sky, and in other cases, they were observed below solid or broken overcast.
Given the wide area over which the objects were observed, we suspect that there may be hundreds of thousands, or perhaps millions, of people who also were witness to these objects and events, but who have not reported their sightings. IF YOU WERE WITNESS TO THIS PHENOMENON, WE WOULD LIKE TO REQUEST THAT YOU SUBMIT A WRITTEN REPORT, USING THE ONLINE REPORT FORM
We would be grateful if you would please include in your report at least the following information: 1) The time and date of the sighting; 2) your location; 3) the direction you were looking; 4) the estimated angle of elevation; 5) how many objects you witnessed; 6) whether the objects were in motion, or stationary, and what direction they appeared to be moving; 7) how big the objects appeared to be, relative to the size of a star in the night sky, or the Moon; 8) how many other witnesses were present; and 9) how the objects disappeared from your sight.
We would encourage you to include any other facts about your sighting, which will help another person understand what you saw, and what the event looked like. Please bear in mind that the only thing another person will ever know about your sighting will depend entirely on what you choose to write about it, so please be thorough.
Also, if you know other witnesses to the same event, please encourage them to submit a report, prepared independently of you, and of all other witnesses who were present.

INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA (IN FLIGHT), AUGUST 1987 - An experienced airline pilot witnesses a “cranberry red” object closing on his aircraft at an estimated 400 knots, and an estimated 4,000 feet below his altitude. Steve Askew, Water Quality Technician, Spokane, Washington: “We heard this SWISSSSHH! sound over the trees. It was like a strong wind came through, but there was no wind. That noise happened for probably about a second.
Jill and I looked at each other and I said I was going outside to see what it was. I walked about 50 feet up into the meadow for a clearer look at the sky and I could not see anything at first. Then all of a sudden, to my left up on top of the ridge, I noticed this light. It was kind of like a red color. I’ve never seen that red before. All of a sudden it went down and then about a minute later, it came back up and I realized this light thing was huge! It covered almost the whole valley!
HOW HIGH WERE YOU ABOVE THE VALLEY FLOOR?
About 800 to 900 feet. I’m looking up at it about 10 degrees. The UFO was probably 500 feet higher than I was.
HOW FAR AWAY FROM YOU?
Maybe 300 feet away and 500 feet above me. It must have been a half-mile wide.
WHAT SHAPE?
Hard to tell, but what I remember is three lights I could see. There was a yellow one – a color I’ve never seen before. And there was a red light and a blue light in colors I had never seen before. And it was in the shape of a triangle. And I’m guessing it had to be a half-mile wide, filling the sky of the valley!

DOES THE TRIANGLE BEGIN TO MOVE TOWARD YOU?
Yes, it does. It’s moving rapidly and all of a sudden it slowed down to a stop right above me.
WHAT DO YOU SEE LOOKING UP?
At first, I saw this thing that covered the whole sky above me and I’m like, ‘Oh, my Lord! This is it!’ I was scared.The starry sky went instant solid black. And I think I yelled, ‘Jill, come out here!’ She said, ‘No way!’
When that craft came over the top of me in the meadow, that happened within a half second from the time it was at the top of the ridge and then down to where I was – really fast! When it stopped, it was probably within another second to when I couldn’t move. I was paralyzed. My girlfriend was paralyzed – she could not move. But we could yell at each other.

I remember a flash from the bottom of the UFO and then within a second or two, a misty, chartreuse green-white beam came down from underneath the middle of the triangle-shaped craft and was around me in microseconds! I figure the length of the beam from the UFO down to me was about 100 feet.
COULD YOU SEE THROUGH THE BEAM LIKE IT WAS TRANSLUCENT? OR WAS IT OPAQUE AND YOU COULD NOT SEE THROUGH IT?
You could see through the beam. You could pick out the silhouettes of trees. I think it was about 30 feet in diameter.
DID YOU FEEL ANY CHANGE IN TEMPERATURE AS THE BEAM CAME AROUND YOU?
All of a sudden, I’m starting to sweat profusely. Since I wasn’t able to move, I was afraid, so I don’t know if it was because I was scared that I was sweating or if it was caused by the beam that enveloped me.

Four Alien Beings Circle Steve in Beam
And then right after the chartreuse beam came down and engulfed me, it might have been a second or two later, these four alien beings showed up in the beam circling around me. They were on the inside of the beam, but near the outside edge of the beam. They were looking at me and I was looking at them. I’m like, ‘Oh, my! They are going to take me.’ Something is going to happen and I could not move. I was scared to death.

I figured they somehow came into that beam like the transformer on Star Trek. They appeared within about 2 seconds – just all of a sudden appeared moving around me - maybe even like a hologram?

I figure they were about 5 feet tall because I'm 5-feet-eleven-inches and those aliens seemed to be about a foot off the ground floating around in a circle.
WHAT DID THEY LOOK LIKE?
They looked almost identical. They had long, white hair probably down to their backside. Their face looks like it was from a horror picture. It was kind of like when you look at an x-ray and you see the skeleton all dark and white shades? That’s what it looked like, but still had the long white hair. And they were wearing what looked like black jumpsuits, but the collar was up almost 4 inches and their sleeves were kind of open down to their elbow. I could not tell what they were wearing on their feet because I could not see down. And they were just staring at me.

The eyes were not as big as the ones drawn for what is called the Greys. Their eyes were more normal human size, but a little bit bigger. They were kind of like Angelina Jolie eyes.

Yes. And the nose was sort of flat. The mouth – the lips were narrow. The teeth, I don’t know if they had any. Their necks were normal length of a human. Their arms were average length. The color of their skin was like a creamish-white color.

It’s hard to say how long – maybe as long as 20 seconds – those alien beings kept staring at me. What I remember is that they were talking to me mind-to-mind, mental telepathy. But to this day, I still don’t remember much of what they said except, ‘We’re not here to harm you.’ If they wanted to harm me, they could have real easily!
SO WHY DO YOU THINK YOU WERE SO AFRAID?
Why was I afraid? Because I’ve never seen this before, never heard of it. The beam was around me, I was paralyzed - what is a person supposed to do? It’s a gut instinct that you are going to be scared.
But after a few seconds, I started to calm down because I started to feel better about the situation. I didn’t feel scared after about five seconds. And then about ten seconds later, they disappeared. The beam was gone and the UFO took off straight up.
AS IT TOOK OFF STRAIGHT UP, WAS IT LIKE A JUMP CUT WHERE THE BLACK DISAPPEARS AND THE STARS ARE BACK?

Yes, I could. As soon as the beam left, I fell to the ground. And I said, ‘Oh, my God, what happened?!’ And I hear my girlfriend yelling, ‘Are you OK? Are you OK?’
I said, ‘We’re getting out of here in the morning!’ I went back in the tent and we were up all night talking about what happened.
IS THAT WHEN JILL TOLD YOU SHE COULD NOT MOVE EITHER?
Yes, and she could see the greenish-white beam. There was a little screen window in the tent that she could see up in the trees and see the green beam, but she could not see what was in the beam.

Back in 1988, not long before he entered college, he and his girlfriend then and now wife, Jill, decided to take up his Leggett, California, uncle's invitation to use a cabin near the Eel River. The spot was so remote and rugged, there were no other structures eastward for probably 50 miles. The afternoon the couple arrived, the temperature was near 90 degrees F. without a breeze. So Steve and Jill decided to pitch a tent in a clear spot not far from the cabin that overlooked a meadow in a narrow valley that Steve estimates was a half-mile wide from ridge to ridge. Their tent was about 900 feet above the valley floor.
Dark came along about 9:30 PM and they decided to go in their tent and do some reading by flashlights. A couple of hours later between 11 to 11:30 PM, the first strangeness in a highly strange night began.
