Because not everyone was lucky enough to be born sinless and maintained by virtue of double predestination.
BTW, Why do Calvinists claim for themselves what they deny to Mary, the Mother of God?
And you have very little UNITY with Augustine on the essentials other than the Trinity and Baptism and a few other things.
Negative. Rnmomof7 posted a very eloquent description of polytheism in the three gods of the Reformed beliefs who sat down over drinks on a Sunday afternoon and made a pact as to who would do what in the overall scheme of things. We Catholics were speculating as to the chosen drink of the Reformed gods - I thought that the Reformed God the Father would drink thousand year old Scotch; we know that Jesus drank wine - I'm thinking a very good Bordeaux, and the Reformed Holy Spirit who might drink aged Cognac.
No difference in Reformed theology from the descriptions of the halls of Valhalla with Odin, Thor, et al, eating roasted whole oxen prepared by Andhrimnir and drinking mead. And they wish us to regard them as Christian?
Thx for the ping.
I asked you, “What is priestcraft?” and you answered, in 8628, “You tell me. You follow them. I don’t.”
I have never seen anyone except you use that word. What does it mean?
I forgot about that and should remember the many changing ideas of pluralistic calvinism. Correct me if I'm wrong, I thought calvin himself taught the trinity correct?
.
Pope much?
.
You do more than see it, you epitomize it.
It means all men who impiously call themselves “another Christ” and presume to summon Christ down from heaven at their beck and call by mystical invocations and a just-so-high levitation.
lol. Calvinists know all men are sinners while it is the RCC who believes Mary was born sinless.
Jesus Christ is the only person ever born sinless. As Paul reminds us, "while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."
Read your Bible and maybe you won't keep repeating these mistakes.
lol. Do your own homework. Those statements have been substantiated according to the RCC catechism, encyclicals, and various Roman Catholic authors.
Do not refer to the banned website.
When a Freeper posts nearly word for word from those banned sites I felt it necessary to point it out. I thought the content was far more offensive than the site name or even an indirect reference to it.
Worse than "bupkiss."
8. In the Church, the priest, alter Christus, is the minister of the essential salvific actions[23]. Acting in persona Christi Capitis, he is the fount of life and vitality in the Church and in his parish by virtue of his sacrificial power to confect the Body and Blood of the Redeemer, his authority to proclaim the Gospel, and his power to conquer the evil of sin through sacramental forgiveness.
And here we have Ratzinger and his year of the priest...
And here from the Congregation of the Clergy is a video...
Now tell us how "another Christ" doesn't really mean "another Christ." How Roman Catholic priest Father Kenneth Baker and his "Amazing Gift of the Priesthood" is incorrect when he says "Simply stated, the Catholic priest is another Christ. Through his ordination he has been granted the amazing gift of being a channel of divine grace for the eternal salvation of those he come into contact with both in his official ministry and in his personal life."
(Catch that? "Another Christ...in his official ministry AND in his personal life.")
Blasphemy and pagan idolatry which elevates men to the level of gods. They who kneel to false gods become like them.
That may be one of the dumbest things I've ever read on this forum.
English is the most intricate of languages. It contains more nuance and explicit meaning than any other language on earth.
Read the Bible and see some of it.
For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them." -- Mark 11:22"And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.
Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God." -- John 1:12-13"But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
Perhaps Roman Catholics don't believe Christ because they have not "received Him."
It just points to the rosary pagan prayer beads, and repetitive prayers. It just points to having the idea of a sacrifice on an altar and then eating flesh so that the flesh changes you..like cannibalism. The Catholic church has pagan roots thanks to Constantine and catholics think it is all God, when actually God hates it
AMEN!
