Abuse of Caucus [whiner's caucus]
Self | 22 Feb 2011 | Natural Law

Posted on 02/22/2011 2:53:04 PM PST by Natural Law

An alarming trend is developing in the Free Republic Religion Forum in which a caucus identifier is being claimed for non-existent or impossibly defined groups. With the caucuses being self defined we see nonsense like the Sola Scriptura Caucus. Of course it doesn’t mean all Scripture, only the thread initiators or Forum Moderators definition of Scripture. Jews who believe in the Scripture of the Old Testament are excluded. Mormons, Seventh Day Adventists, and Jehovah’s Witnesses are excluded even though they believe in the sufficiency of their own versions of Scripture. The not so transparent purpose of these faux caucuses is clearly to exclude a group of FReepers in a modern day repetition of “Whites Only” and “Irish Need Not Apply” prejudice. If this is allowed to stand what will we see next; caucuses so narrowly defined so as to only include one’s bridge club or to exclude an individual FReeper? How about a caucus designation for everyone but citizens from New York? How about a men’s only caucus? How about a caucus for those of us who drive BMWs? And what is being discussed in these faux caucus threads? Critical doctrinal issues such as ruggedized aircraft, home schooling, and civil unrest in Egypt. Give me a break!

That sounds allot like the ‘denomination’ differences with those in the Protestant court. Catholics use differeing names just as Protestants do....the difference i think is the protestants are for the most part focused on the Centrality of Christ Jesus... Catholics for the most part are focused on their church name and the leadership over it...regardless of their standing regarding Rome they remain focused on the church and it’s teachings and rites. Christ Himself being secondary IMO.

Jim added the ‘whiner’ thread title. It was a good call.

ABSOLUTELY INDEED.

One of the more anointed, accurate, discerning, brilliant, clarifying moves he’s made on FR in all its existence.

I agree. Now, if he would add a way for me to filter my “Latest Posts” page to exclude vaguely worded Religious threads, I’m good.

'People who’ve visited Heaven and returned to tell about it'

do you mean people recently?

I’ve enjoyed such narratives over the last 30-40 years.

They seem to have been increasing in frequency as well as in detail and length of time spent in Heaven before returning.

“Those who refrain from self-identifying as “Roman Catholics” tend to be from the more liberal branch of that church.”

However, since this is a conservative website, it would most likely be erroneous to assume that freepers who refrain from self-identifying as “Roman Catholics” are liberals.

That sounds blessed. To visit heaven and see the face of God. How did they come back?

Absolutely it takes prayer...and courage I might add. More than once my stomach did flip-flops before entering those meetings. I knew I was walking into a lions den. We were up against some powerful figures...the Pres. of the Chamber was also one of the top dogs of the local Nuclear Power Plant..... The Vice Pres. President was head of the Industrial Development Association in the area. Both had strong tentacles throughout the community to those in high places.

So you can imagine going into this fray being new to the arena....interesting is I didn’t realize myself the clout I had among those there who I joined with in bringing this down. But I had “open door” into any company of my choosing in the community....which also ment an opportunity to communicate the truth to those who needed to know. Walking on eggshells hardly says enough!

So yes...no steps without communicating with the Lord who really was who was orchestrating the plays, and for those hHe was clearly using......and great courage given in the face of fear.

How about a caucus for those of us who drive BMWs?

There’s one I qualify for.

That’s a study in itself.

Those killed in accidents . . . tended to see their bodies lying below them . . . and then kind of like slipped back into their bodies as one would put on a set of coveralls.

Many were given the option of coming back or staying in Heaven. Some were not. Those given the option who came back returned because of family needing them etc.

Some who were just GIVEN the experience a la the Apostle Paul . . . like Roland Buck . . . just ‘woke back up in his body sitting at his desk with the velum sheet listing the 120 items God had told him would happen in the future—held in his hands.’

The most interesting was Jesse Du Plantis who seemed to come and go in a kind of gondola capsule with an angel riding in it with him. No memory of the travels in it, however, just in getting out of it in Heaven and getting back in it in Heaven to return to earth. His narrative is on YouTube. His is the only one I’ve ever read with that detail.

Most of the uninjured non-death-by-disease types of visits also included Christ guided visites to hell.

Respectfully, caww, our leadership is Jesus Christ. If I may be so bold, NYer had a great article about them, better than I can recount at the here & now. It can be found here: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-religion/2676567/posts.

NYer’s article will explain better, though I will simply say, no, no denominations here. Anyway, have a day.

The Lady Gaga of funkadelic spiritism.

Most of the uninjured non-death-by-disease types of visits also included Christ guided visites to hell.

One of the more interesting was an atheist MD . . . DR Eby or some such, IIRC . . .

Heart attack victim . . . A not very Christian childhood Episcopalian MD was resucitating him—11 times—rather an unusually high number of such attempts.

Every time the “Episcopal” MD would bring Dr Eby around, Dr Eby would be SCREAMING BLOOD CURDLINGLY LOUD:

“I’M IN HELL, GET ME OUT OF HERE! HELP! I’M IN HELL! GET ME OUT OF HERE!”

Episcopal MD found that rather disconcerting and annoying and finally, in exasperation, remembering faintly something from Sunday School, screamed back:

“OH, PRAY TO JESUS AND SHUT UP!”

That resucitation took and Dr Eby went on to live and then recount his experience in hell. He became a staunch Christian.
