Anyone reading this exchange back through the comments can easily see what's been said. A member of your own church said those who insist on NOT calling themselves Roman Catholic tend to be the more liberal members of that liberal organization.

And you get this one wrong. He said that those who call themselves members of a particular church tend to be more liberal. Are you unaware of what this means, or should I dumb it down for another exemplary member of the United States educational system?

That's something you've demanded of us, IIRC. To be called "Catholic," and not Roman Catholic.

Where have I demanded anything of you, Dr. E.? I expect nothing from you, demand nothing of you, and have my expectations fulfilled with every post.

You cannot deny the works of the Holy Spirit without consequences, yet we have our ‘as usual’ denier here on this thread begging the Lord to strike him.

If you're speaking of me, I feel like Elijah facing the false prophets of Baal.

Good luck, kiddies. Your “daddy god” is trifle bit too small if you can keep him boxed up at your beck and call. I think you need to catch Jesse's E-Ticket gondola ride to heaven.

ORTHODOXKIRKPRESBYTERIAN TO QUIX: Has the Holy Spirit ever filled you inside and used you to conduct His work?

Earlier I said that was a "strange question for a Christian to ask." But it's probably even more peculiar that someone who says they're an Orthodox Presbyterian is compelled to ask that question.

What does your church teach you about the indwelling Holy Spirit and the work of God within Christ's sheep?

Please be specific. I'm interested in your opinion. "Has the Holy Spirit ever filled you inside and used you to duct His work?"

The Armenian Church is one of the many Catholic rites -- read on:

ARMENIAN. Armenia was the first country to adopt Christianity as the state religion in the 4th century. They used the Antiochine liturgy of St. James said in the Armenian language. At that time Armenia was located in eastern Turkey. After it was destroyed in the 11th century it moved to Cilicia (southern Turkey). That is why to this day the Patriarch of this rite is known as the Patriarch of Cilicia of the Armenians. The Armenians also fell into heresy after the Council of Chalcedon. The Council of Florence in 1439 declared reunion with the Armenians, and Pope Benedict XIV confirmed the first Patriarch in 1742. The Turks massacred roughly two million Armenians at the end of World War I. Most members of this rite live in Lebanon.

Evidently at some

visceral . . . deeper levels . . .

my personna is somehow threatening to those who feel such an addicted compulsion to trash me in order to stand on the presumed rubble of my pretended shredded identity . . . therewith to feel better about their own feeble self-worth.

Tis a common phenomenon. Given their desperate assaults . . . evidently their NEED to do such is quite large.

The Catholic Church is an institution run by men, all kinds of men, and it is not THE Chruch Jesus is returning for some day. You’re big on ‘giving what the church says’ you are supposed to believe regarding scriptures, but there are so many man-made tenents where do you draw the line?

All kinds of men and apartment owner as well?

... With you, you don’t draw a line, you just swallow it all and tell us ‘the church’ is the authority.

I posted here the Scripture that gives the authority of the Church as given by Jesus. Men alone are like the Eunuch - staring blindly at the words; or else like the first millennium heretics - making it all up as they go along.

And if you doubt what I’m telling you, doa word study of the origins of ‘Lucifer’ in Old Testament translations. [HINT: was invented in second century AD when translating Isaiah 14, not found in the original texts; a whole mythos on Lucifer as satan has been invent over the centuries.]

Certainly, the Church massaged the original books into the form that you wave around now. Matthew 28:19 (the Trinitarian formula), and the Comma Johanneum (to emphasize the Trinitarian formula) were not inserted into Scripture until late second or early third century, as well. And numerous other examples. So, does that mean that you will reject that Bible in your hand, which is created by the authorized men of the Church?
