Beck's Bogus Beliefs

March 2011

by T. A. McMahon

"Glenn Beck, the television and radio talk show host who is best known for his conservative political views, isn't someone whom we would normally address in our newsletter. Our concerns are usually directed at individuals, programs, or organizations that promote spiritual or theological views contrary to the Word of God. Beck, of late, seems to be making himself at home in that realm, and he's attracting many who call themselves Bible-believing Christians. ...

First of all, Glenn Beck is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He may refer to himself as a Christian, but he's certainly not a biblical Christian. The distinction is as wide as hell is from heaven: "Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God" (2 John:9). Mormon doctrine is "another gospel" that exalts "another Jesus." Both false beliefs came out of the deceived and deceiving mind of Joseph Smith. Secondly, "our country" doesn't have "Christian roots," even though some are claiming that our founding fathers were true Christians. Many were not biblical Christians but Christians in name only, who followed the faith of Deism, Masonry, and the philosophy of the Enlightenment. Any early influence in America's history of a biblical nature very likely came from the Pilgrims and the Puritans...."

I am far from Mormon (Ordained Presbyterian Elder,) but know from experience that most Mormons are politically conservative, and in this current battle to decide whether or not the US will survive, we should remember the words of Mr. Adams who said “We had all better hang together, or we all may hang separately!”

Becoming perfect is not the same as being perfect, “Be ye therefore perfect as your Father in heaven is perfect” and no, I do not subscribe to Mormon doctrine.

There’s nothing true in Colofornian’s posts about Roy Masters, and he’s not looking for the truth concerning him, so why waste my time about it?

Before this thread, if I had heard the name, it might have rung the tiniest of bells but I would not have known what to connect him to.

If he is striving for perfection in this world, he'll never make it.

Not more of this ‘who’s the real Christian’ battle.

Not quite.

It 's a 'Who is the real CHRIST' battle, and it is VERY important!

A colossal bore & a total waste of bandwith.

If it bores YOU and wastes YOUR time; then do not read about it or comment about it.

As far as BANDWIDTH; that problem has long ago vanished...

Remember the words of Joseph Smith:

"Mother; I've learned that PRESBYTERIANism is untrue."

Roy Masters - founder of the Foundation of Human Understanding.

Jeremiah 17:9
The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?

Masters sees Christian salvation as a process of God's work reclaiming the corrupted hearts, minds, and consciences of individuals who repent of their weakness.

His teaching emphasizes individual conscience and adherence to life principles, mainly from a psychological or philosophical perspective, with little discussion of traditional Christian themes.

SOMEone may want to EDIT this WIKI data to spiff up Roy's image a bit...

And, experience ALSO shows us that politicians of the MORMON stripe tend to be RINOs and Liberals.

Who ELECTS these folks?

individuals who repent of their weakness.

Is that a euphemism for sin?

Does he teach that we can attain some sort of perfection without the redeeming grace of Jesus?

His emphasis isn’t on the end result, it’s on the striving of it, which entails one’s adherence to what the Holy Spirit shows you is right, “He who endures to the end will be saved”, endures what? You tell me.
