In the English, one can become confused. In the Greek, it is clear: gift refers to salvation and cannot refer to faith (different genders).

Neuter, not feminine tauth, and so refers not to pistiv [faith] (feminine) or to xariv [grace] (feminine also), but to the act of being saved by grace conditioned on faith on our part.
