Hi. I'm Jeff. [Internet profile of a mormon.]

Hi, I'm Jeff

I am thrilled and honored to belong to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I am a devout Christian.

About Me

I am a husband and father. I was raised in a family of 14 children (9 boys and 5 girls, all from the same parents). I'm the 9th child. I love people. I love to serve and give. I stay active physically, mentally, spiritually, and socially. I am an attorney. I also have an MBA and am a certified management accountant.

Why I am a Mormon

The fundamental reason for which I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is because the Holy Ghost has indicated to me in many undeniable ways that the church of Jesus Christ has been restored to the earth with all the attendant teachings, truth, authority, rites, ordinances, and structure.

Thankfully, I repeatedly feel and sense this same personal revelation over and over and over.

As 1 Corinthians 2 teaches us, there two primary ways of learning: one of man and the other of God. In short, I joined the Church solely because God has told me to do so.

How I live my faith

I strive to "be" my faith. My faith is who I am (or strive to be).

I daily study holy writ and pray to my Heavenly Father. I do so personally and with my family. I have weekly family home evenings with my immediate family where we talk about holy matters and how to improve our lives.

I love my fellowmen. I strive to show this love in a customer-focused, kind, and service-oriented manner of carrying out my employment. I try to the same while volunteering in church and community activities and assignments. It truly is a joy to serve others.

I attend church meetings on Sundays. I also attend various activities during the week to support and uplift the youth in my area. I attend various training sessions and other ad hoc events.

I attend the temples of God regularly to renew divine covenants and renew my marital vows.

I also volunteer in various capacities with the Boy Scouts of America to bless the lives of the young boys in my congregation. The Church has adopted the BSA program as a vehicle for exceptional training and development of youth. I fully support this adoption.

“He sounds like a responsible nice guy and good father that provides for his family.”

“Too bad there’s not more like him.”

There are lots more like him. They are called Mormons. Many lovely folks just not christians.

mormons wouldn't allow black boys to hold leadership positions in these bsa 'troops' because they required them to be aaronic priests - which blacks were banned from holding.

I dare say little Jeffy here is grossly ignorant of the facts how mormons use bsa for the training and development of ONLY WHITE AND DELIGHTSOME mormon boys at the time.

So Jeff, that means the reason you have children is so the the Gods can have a body to inhabit?
And that by doing all the things the church says for you to do you can become a god like GOD?

“Such a terrible man who seems genuinely happy, works with young people, celebrates faith, and focuses on his marriage.”

“He deserves scorn, indeed.”

Growing up in Wyoming, I was raised in a large Mormon population. They had the exact same diversity as any other group.

There were Mormon ‘party girls’ and ‘bad boys’ and Mormon evangelicals who could get seriously annoying. But the vast majority were just good, normal people.

My husband and I became engaged on July 31st 2009. We scheduled our wedding for August 10.

At one point in that week before our wedding, I sought out a Mormon friend of mine and asked her if I could come over for coffee. After we sat down and exchanged pleasantries, I pulled out a notepad and told her the purpose of my visit.

“We’re getting married on the 10th. More than anyone I know, you have the happiest, most solid marriage and close family that I’ve ever met. I was hoping you’d give me some advice as I go into my own marriage.”

She had five children, was deeply in love with her husband of almost 15 years and was a genuinely happy person. She had what I wanted. Who better to ask for guidance?

She told me that a large part of her happiness came from the church, but it wasn’t just the church. It was her and her husband making a commitment to walk a walk together. To share the same basic values. That helped weed out a lot of the conflict right from the beginning.

The one thing that she told me that helped the most, was that her marriage wasn’t always great. She cautioned me that it was difficult, especially for the first year or two, for a couple to finally get into step.

She told me that the commitment, made by both of us, to reach that end goal of blending into one team - one partnership, one unit - would get us through that time.

I spent all afternoon with her, taking in as much as I could and she told me many things - all of which turned out to be true and helpful.

I shared this advice with my husband and her advice got us through the tough times. When things were at their worst, and we were both frustrated beyond words, I had the reassurance that this was part of the process and that we could make it through.

Thank you, Carrie.

It is interesting that Mormons now include references to the Christian Bible, something that they never did in past generations
___________________________________________________________________________

Hmmm, that's a new one. I'm a Mormon and we've always used a Bible. Every day in fact. I remember as a kid at my Grandmother's house having her read from the bible to us too. (King James Version.)

There are plenty of doctrinal differences between us, but that fact that we believe in additional scripture and that God has spoken to other nations of the earth, not just ancient Israel, doesn't mean we don't revere the bible.

BTW, I was pleased to see what Pat Robertson just said:

“Robertson said he would continue to comment on the news of the day and noted he likes Mitt Romney's politics. He said he considers the Mormon candidate “an outstanding Christian,” but declined to say if he would be OK with a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the White House. Both Romney and former Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman are Mormons seeking the GOP nomination, and many evangelicals are skeptical of the Mormon faith's claims to Christianity.”

“I am thrilled and honored to belong to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I am a devout Christian.”

Those two sentences are diametrically opposed to one another.

Worshiping false prophets doesn’t make you a Christian. Men dead or alive NOR whatever church you belong too can bring you salvation and forgive your sins. Only Jesus Christ can do that.

Not according to Pat Robertson, one Evangelic leader that I'm respecting more and more.

“He deserves scorn, indeed. “

Yes, he does, and I’ll tell you why: He is practicing propaganda angainst Christianity. You don’t even know if his webpage is real. This is a propaganda push by the Mormons to gain money and strength for their cult, not to spread the word of God. For that deception, he deserves all the scorn of the devil himself.

“They are called Mormons. Many lovely folks just not christians.”

John Gotti was a Christian. Maybe Jeff should rethink his values and pattern his life after the killer mobster ‘Christian’, Mr. Gotti....?

Here’s a thought. Let the Mormons exercise their freedom to practice whatever religion they choose here on Earth. If Jesus and God don’t approve...let them judge the Mormons, not you.

You don’t even know if his webpage is real.

You don't know that it isn't real. That's some serious propaganda when a man professes to celebrate love for his family, community and faith.

Grab the bucket of tar and feathers! Sharpen the guillotine! Feed him to the lions! The bitter scorn is nuttier than a pecan pie. Unhealthy too.

Hypothetical:

If you successfully stifled Mormons from freely practicing their faith, what would be left for you to crab about?

” If Jesus and God don’t approve...let them judge the Mormons, not you.”

There is nothing to judge. Mormons just are not Christians as they do not subscribe to important christians tenets. Until recent years the US government categorized them as a cult. They are free to worship as they choose they are just not Christians.

I will thank you in advance for a link to where the U.S. Government “categorized them (LDS, not FLDS) as a cult”.
