You can also listen to a ministry broadcast from Olive Tree Ministries, with Jan Markell - interviewing Pastor Mark Blitz.
Olive Tree Ministries notes on the broadcast.
Jan talks to Pastor Mark Biltz asking him if the 2014-2015 blood moons are a significant sign in the Heavens? The Bible asks us to watch for signs in the Heavens. Observing these forthcoming blood moons is not an exercise in date-setting for end-time events. In the past, the blood moon tetrads (four in a row) took place within date patterns that dramatically affected Israel and then the world. Biltz has never suggested that the Rapture or any other end-time event will fit into this pattern as some accuse. He found the information on the NASA Web site and is reporting on how it has played out in history and how it could play out in the future. Jan also talks about two Hollywood films that were made to mock and scoff Jesus’ return, a definite sign of the time.

This is a little bit different here. What you’re talking about is something is said in the Bible - and then - one wonders WHEN that is going to happen.
IN THIS EVENT ... it’s the REVERSE of that. HERE we have something that we know EXACTLY WHEN it’s going to happen - but - we don’t know WHAT is going to happen.
So, in abbreviated form, you point out the WHAT, but you don’t know WHEN. But here, we know WHEN, but we don’t know WHAT!
Any relation to Walter?
I couldn’t say, because I don’t know, but there is a contact address for Bill Koenig, on his page, if you want to ask him ... :-) ...
Thanks. Wasn’t being flippant, it’s just an unusual surname. Interesting if they were.
The Coming BLOOD MOONS
We found the “blood-red moon” work interesting and began looking into possible connections to past and future “Jewish Feasts” and to our amazement found there are very significant connections and trust that you will find this teaching fascinating too!
“And I will show wonders in the heavens, and in the earth, blood and fire and pillars of smoke. The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the coming of the great and awesome day of Jehovah.” Joel 2:30 -31
“The sun shall be turned into darkness and the moon into blood, before that great and glorious Day of the Lord.” Acts 2:20
The Jewish Talmud (book of tradition / Interpretation) says; “When the moon is in eclipse, it is a bad omen for Israel. If its face is as red as blood, (it is a sign that) the sword is coming to the world.” Therefore: Lunar Eclipse = bad omen for the Jewish people and Israel; Blood Moon = sword coming; Solar Eclipse = bad omen for the world.
Four, blood moons on Jewish Feast days within two years in Israel is very rare and has only occurred seven times since the time of Yeshua (Jesus). There are now four blood moons scheduled to appear in 2014/2015 and then there will NOT be any for the next 100 years.
Every time a blood moon pattern has appeared on Jewish feast days a big event affects the nation of Israel. The event affecting Israel begins just before the actual years of the blood moons. To understand what will happen in the 2014 - 2015 “blood moons” you must understand the pattern of blood moons in the past.
NASA found that we have had “blood-red moons” on the first day of Passover and the first day of Sukkoth on back-to-back years seven times since 1 A.D. Three of these occurrences were connected to 1492 (the year the Jews were expelled from Spain by Queen Isabella) , 1948 (statehood for Israel and the War of Independence), and 1967 (the Six-Day War) some of the most significant days in Jewish history. According to NASA - Four ‘blood-red’ TOTAL lunar eclipses WILL fall again on Passover and Sukkoth in 2014 and 2015 the same back-to-back occurrences at the time of 1492, 1948 and 1967.
Seven back-to-back, blood-red moons have fallen on the first day of Passover and Sukkoth, with the “eighth time” coming in 2014 and 2015.
The meaning of the number “Eight”in the Bible is “New Beginnings” The eighth day was new after God rested. There are 7 days in a week and the 8th day is a new beginning. Christ rose on the 8th day which was a new beginning for the world.
When the whole earth was covered with the flood, it was Noah “the eighth person” (2 Peter 2:5) who stepped out on to a new earth to commence a new order of things. “Eight souls” (1 Peter 3:20) passed through to the new or re-generated world.
Hence, too, circumcision was to be performed on the “eighth day” (Genesis 17:12), because it was the fore-shadowing of the true circumcision of the heart, that which was to be “made without hands,” even “the putting off of the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ” (Colossians 2:11). This is connected with the new creation.
The first-born was to be given to Jehovah on the “eighth day” (Exodus 22: 29, 30) and the Resurrection of Yeshua (Jesus) is ultimately signified when He rose from the dead on “the first day of the week,” (Mark 16:9) that was of necessity the “eighth day.”

Blood moons expert: Watch 2014 and 2015
Pastor John Hagee was invited by Fox News this week to discuss the significance of four blood moons coming over the next two years on the Jewish Passovers on April 15, 2014, and April 4, 2015, and the Feasts of Tabernacles on Oct. 8, 2014, and Sept. 28, 2015.
Such events have occurred only three other times in recent centuries, and each time they were linked to significant events for the Jewish nation, as outlined in Hagees new book, Four Blood Moons: Something is about to Change.
For example, when it happened in 1493 and 1494 Jews were expelled from Spain. The blood moons in 1949 and 1950 came right after the nation of Israel was assembled, giving the Jews a homeland for the first time in thousands of years.
And in 1967 and 1968 it was linked to the Six-Day War.
This is something that just is beyond coincidental, Hagee told Fox. He explained that the prophecies in the Bible note that when the sun refuses to shine and a solar eclipse is expected in the 2014-2015 time frame and the moon will be turned to blood, then mans redemption draweth near.
In the Old Testament, the prophet Joel states, The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the LORD come. (Joel 2:31)
In the New Testament, Jesus is quoted as saying: Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light. And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. (Matthew 24:29-30)
Acts 2 states: And I will show wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood and fire and pillars of smoke. The sun shall be turned into darkness and the moon into blood before the great and terrible day of the Lord comes.
Pastor Mark Biltz talked with WND about the issue, elaborating on the information provided in Hagees book.
I’ll just point out that the lunar eclipse falling on Passover 2014 won’t be experienced in Israel.
That was mentioned in the radio program that I posted up above. The answer was that these were signs for the world. I would tend to go with that ... :-) ...
The Blood Red Moons Of 2014 And 2015: An Omen Of War For Israel?
Four TOTAL lunar eclipses occurred on the Jewish Passover and Feast of Tabernacles in 162 163 AD, coinciding with the worst persecution of Jews and Christians in the history of the Roman Empire. Within 3 years the Antonine Plague killed eight million people, a third of the population.
Four TOTAL lunar eclipses occurred on the Jewish Passover and Yom Kippur Holidays in 795 796 AD while King Charlemagne of the Holy Roman Empire established a DMZ buffer zone between France and Spain, ending centuries of Arab invasions into Western Europe.
Four TOTAL lunar eclipses occurred on the Jewish Passover and Yom Kippur Holidays in 842 843 AD. Shortly after the eclipses the Vatican church in Rome was attacked and looted by an Islamic invasion from Africa.
Four TOTAL lunar eclipses occurred on the Jewish Passover and Yom Kippur Holidays in 860 861 AD. Shortly after the eclipses the Byzantine Empire defeated Arab armies at the Battle of Lalakaon in Turkey and permanently stopped the Islamic invasion of Eastern Europe.
Four TOTAL lunar eclipses occurred on the Jewish Passover and the Feast of Trumpets Holidays in 1493 1494. Only months after King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella of Spain ordered all Jewish people to leave the country (after about 200 AD, Spain became and remained a second Jewish homeland for well over a millennia. So deeply woven into the fabric of Spain are the Jews that neither history can be fully studied without considering the influence of the other).
Or a sign that Passover and Sukkot always occur during a full moon, which happens to be more-or-less the only time a lunar eclipse can occur...
Messianic Blood Moon Rising on Passover Seder Night
There will be a string of four “blood moons” in the year 5775, and one of them will shine over the Passover seder. Whenever this happened in the past, enormous events took place in Jewish history.
It starts with the Book of Joel, Chapter 3:3-4: And I will show wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke. The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and terrible day of the Lord come.
The verse about the sun turning dark and the moon turning to blood, is at the center of a new, hot, Christian bestseller titled Four Blood Moons, by Pastor John Hagee. It is based on a discovery by Pastor Mark Biltz, who runs a Hebrew roots ministry in Tacoma, Washington: Red Moons.
Biltzs website declares: We do not want to convert Jews to Christianity or Christians to Judaism, which works for me. He based his observation on the verse in Genesis 1:14: And God said, Let there be lights in the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years.
God originally plans to use the heavenly lights as signs, and the prophet Joel foretells that a blood moon would mark the day of the Lord then it stands to reason that some dramatic stuff should be taking place when a blood moon is up in the sky.
The science of the blood moon phenomenon is fairly simple. It is created by a partial lunar eclipse. When the Earths shadow covers the moon completely, we get a total eclipse. A partial lunar eclipse happens wen the Earths shadow covers the moon only partially. The earth atmosphere bends light around its edge, and scatters out shorter-wavelength light (green through violet), leaving longer-wavelength light (red, orange, and yellow) in the Earths shadow. This is also why sunsets and sunrises generally appear red.
As is the case with most miraculous events that can be explained scientifically, the miracle is not in the natural phenomenon, but rather in its timing. So the Book of Joel describes solar eclipse, followed by a partial lunar eclipse, as precursors of the Day of the Lord.
The prophecy in Joel, like most prophecies, is surreal, beautiful, and open to many interpretations. But we can take away from it the notion of a blood moon as a sign, and check out the calendar for the next bunch of partial lunar eclipses.
Thats what Pastor Biltz did, he looked at NASAs tables for solar and lunar eclipses and found a string of lunar and solar eclipses happening in 2014 and 2015 and then nothing like it for the rest of the 21st century. In 2015 there will be two solar and lunar eclipses two weeks apart (on the new moon and full moon) one in the spring and one in the fall. This could possibly produce four blood moon eclipses in a row, which is definitely something to write home about.
OK, now hold on to your seats, please: weve had the Tetrad phenomenon (a string of four moons partially or completely eclipsed,) twice in the last century, both times on the night of the Passover seder: in 5710 (1949-50) and in 5728 (1967-68).
The year 5710 came right after the establishment of the State of Israel.
The year 5728 came right after the liberation of Jerusalem.
The next string of four blood moons is coming Passover seder night, 5775 (2014-15) a year from this Pesach.
They’ve tracked these tetrads ... and they are rare, and especially in context with the Jewish Festivals .
If you want to, you can easily track them in the past, all the way out into the future, using NASA’s information, and see how rare they are.
I would have to look up the precise definition for a tetrad, but it’s something like four consecutive eclipses, with no partials n between, and I think it’s supposed to be separated by six months apart. But, again, I would have to look up the precise definition.
What do traditional Christians think of using astrology (not just celestial mechanics) to anticipate Jesus’ return?
