to elevate the discussion and exercise more restraint and respect. And I do mean both sides. You can drop your sarge routine here and we aren't into PC. There is NO holding back on Truth which is God's WORD Alone.
One of my least favorite people
This is not about you .... it IS ALL ABOUT JESUS!

I think we could all benefit if those on both sides could seek to elevate the discussion and exercise more restraint and respect. And I do mean both sides. Says the man who only pinged one side.

Papist? Isnt that a little derogatory? Where is your restraint in asking that? What is the motive? Try doing what you seem so willing to tell others what YOU want them to do seek to elevate the discussion and exercise more restraint and respect.

No, however I WAS the First Sergeant of an infantry company coming home from 322 days of outside-the-wire combat operations.

Why? I get pinged to a lot of threads, Sometimes they fall through the cracks. I also have A LIFE.
I find it interesting that so many folks are suddenly upset about the word Papist. After all I describe myself as a Calvinist, as do most Reformed folk on FR and we certainly don't take offense or try to read between the lined when FRoman Catholics toss that moniker around.

“My” is almost a term of affection in the Army.
My Soldiers
My Commander
My L.T. (Well maybe not that one as much)
My First Sergeant

Catholics, Mormons and Muslims - who are man made teaching believers NEED to change their heart and want ONLY Truth and then seek it in GOD'S WORD alone. Until then, no one can do anything about their embracing lies/deception of man/evil - it's their choice and no one can 'crack' their free will as it is God given. He forces no one to come to Him - and that is TRUE LOVE. He gave the same to all and many chose not to accept HIM alone but embrace 'religion' which has NOTHING to do with God nor KNOWING GOD .

As a term to identify Roman Catholics. No kidding. That's supposed to be an answer to this question:
Why do you (not another blogger) use the word "papist" rather than "Catholic"?
We know it's a term to "identify Roman Catholics". Thanks. The question is why you used that particular term, rather than another term such as simply "Catholics", for instance.
You wrote it. You ought to know.
To: marshmallow
I do know. And I have answered the question to my satisfaction.

as in “Roger, Sir. He’s my L.T - I’ll straighten him out” says the Platoon Sergeant
