OK so you’re saying the big difference is that under Socialism the leaders demand that everyone else sacrifice their lives on pain of death or punishment but they are exempt so it is hypocritical. That is the important difference?

Give it up, lefty! Jesus is the King of Kings and Lord of Lords!

Clearly, He’s a Monarchist!

. . when John and Peter met the beggar at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful . .

Seeing how the man was always at that gate every day, it is probable that Jesus has passed by this same man himself while entering the Temple. But Jesus' position on socialism can be wrapped up in Matthew 25:14-30

‘For to everyone who has, more will be given, and he will have abundance; but from him who does not have, even what he has will be taken away. And cast the unprofitable servant into the outer darkness. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’

Good point, after all, He used many evil kingdoms to punish His people throughout History.

In our day, he gives us the government we truly want. Way too many Americans today want a nanny state, so God gave us what we want.

Ultimately we will get what we ask for in our hearts.

It can either be Him, or something very bad for us.

That being said, He is not a Socialist, but He will give it to us as punishment I agree. However, only because we ask for it instead of Him.

He explains it all.

He explains all we need to know at any point in time but He doesn't explain all. If you have no questions you are pointedly ignoring Him.

I would agree for the first 150, 180 years of the US. I fear if He hasn't already switched to punishment mode it is imminent.

I have a theory that in America God is showing the absolute best man can do for himself. And even that comes up way way short.

Jesus didn’t believe in theft. He believed in kindness.

He would support the conservative that does his best and then personally gives to those that fall on hard times.

Socialism = Communism = Marxism = Theft.

Exactly, but people die every day and go to hell.

Even on their death bed they have a chance to accept him and chose not to.

In America there is no excuse to be in hell, because the truth is all over the place to be had.

There are times in History that men never heard of the gospel, but eternity is in our hearts, and by our actions he will judge us. God know what we would have done if we heard the gospel.

He knows the future, even what would be the future if we chose another route to go home. He knows what we are thinking, and where our hearts are.

That is why Jesus warned his followers that
"Not everyone who says to Me, "Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, "Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?' And then I will declare to them, "I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!" Matthew 7:21-23

It goes without saying that even our best deeds are but filthy rags to Him. That is why we must always do what we do in the name of His Son, Jesus.

But we are all like an unclean thing, And all our righteousnesses are like filthy rags; We all fade as a leaf, And our iniquities, like the wind, Have taken us away. Isaiah 64:6

Yep, his people demanded a king so they’d be “just like everyone else!”

He is speaking of faith and of gifts of the spirit, but the point is still valid, because he is not taking from the ones with plenty, he takes from the ones with little.

Their faith is so little they trusted not in Him. Where as those with much faith, had multiplied that which they had, and God rewards them with even more.

You know what they say, be careful of what you ask for, and sometimes god’s greatest gifts are unanswered prayers.

I read something the other day that said, If god does not open the door when you knock on it, you are probably better of not going in.

We were discussing whether or not coercion was involved and you switched from that topic to whether God offers a better deal than the socialists. I’d like to finish discussing the question of coercion. Under Socialism the government sets the rules, demands that you sacrifice your plans and follow the governments plan for you on pain of punishment. God sets up the rules, he demands that you sacrifice your plans and follow his plan for you on pain of punishment. They seem to be the same in principal. I could be wrong. Could you show me the flaw in my reasoning?

That’s just a deepity. I wasn’t making a statement I was simply repeating what he said to me to make sure I was understanding his answer.

I agree. In the story of the Good Samaritan, the Good Samaritan had money and a donkey. So he must have worked; he had possessions. He brought the injured man to a private business...an inn...and gave the innkeeper his own money to take care of the injured man. So yes, it would seem that Jesus approved of free enterprise, capitalism, etc.

Right. Jesus is a king and so are the leaders in a Socialist government. No?

The simple thing is this...

Christ sacrifice his self for others .......

he did not sacrifice others for others .......

and certainly do not sacrifice others for his self

Christianity is about willing self sacrifice. You need no law or goverment for this

Socialism is about sacrificing others, by force, if necessary, for others and yourself.

They’re not the same.

The servant who was given one talent also had a wrong understanding of who the Master was. Yet even with his erroneous understanding, he still did not act out upon it.

Faith is when we act out on our belief. The third servant did not do even that.

Let put it ven simpler

In Christianity, you’re the self sacrifice in Christ

In Socialism, your Pontius Pilate and the Pharisees that sacrifice the Christ

That doesn’t answer the question of what would have happened if he had chosen not to sacrifice himself. Under socialism people have a choice to sacrifice themselves to the state or die. It was the same for Jesus. Or am I wrong?
