**Jesus could never condemn repetitious prayer itself because He engaged in it in the Garden of Gethsemane.**
Now, those rosary beads would fetch a handsome price today!/s
He repeated the ‘take this cup from me’ prayer twice.
BEFORE going to the garden, he prayed the prayer that is all of John chap 17.......and it is wonderful, and hardly repetetive.
Whoever shall recite the Rosary devoutly, applying himself to the consideration of its sacred mysteries shall never be conquered by misfortune. God will not chastise him in His justice, he shall not perish by an unprovided death; if he be just he shall remain in the grace of God, and become worthy of eternal life.
Where is the scripture to back this up? Where in the New testement does it instruct we say the Rosary devoutly?
Hebrews says the Word of God is Powerful it doesn’t say the Rosary is powerful.
Hebrews 4:12 says- “For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”
That doesn’t refer to the Rosary.
Matthew 6:9 instructs us how to pray and nowhere does it say the words of the Rosary.
I have no issue with saying the Rosary but saying its powerful, please provide scripture for that. Thank you.

**He made you...He is fully capable of listening to you without the intercession of another human.**
Hey there!......just like the silversmiths that made a living making shrines to Diana, there are people that rely on the sale of ‘Mary’ paintings and objects to help pay for Obamacare.......or maybe just buy a meal with a yuan or two:
About 5 years ago I hauled a semi-load from a warehouse in Bollingbrook, IL, to Mt. Pleasant, IA. It was boxes full of ‘St. Thomas Aquinas’ medalions on necklaces. On the side of the boxes were the words ‘made in China’.
History isn’t scripture. Thank you for responding tho.
Did you read any of the links? The Rosary kept the Moslems out of Europe.
“Whoever shall faithfully serve me by the recitation of the Rosary, shall receive signal graces.”
I have a problem with this sentence. “Serve Me”? Mary? No..The Lord, yes.
I was a former Catholic- I pray to my Lord and Savior only.
The Bible tells to pray only to our Lord and no other...
**The Rosary kept the Moslems out of Europe.**
Well, they’re back,......sad to say.
“Whoever shall faithfully serve me by the recitation of the Rosary, shall receive signal graces.”
Is the word serve me(meaning Mary) not putting her above the Lord?
Interesting, that while you may be correct about that in this country, meanwhile, China has over 100 million Christians, and rising. God works in mysterious and wonderful ways!!
I wanted scriptural citations which supported the Rosary being powerful. Thanks for those links but they weren’t what I was asking for.
Hebrews 4:12 says the word of God is powerful. The Rosary, imo, is a Catholic tradition which I don’t have an issue with.
“I am not anti-Catholic, I am pro-Truth”
So what do you think about those Catholic GGGGGGG grandparents you had and the rest of your ancestors, who unless you come from China or the Middle East, were most certainly Catholic before Martin Luther busted up God’s Pilgrim Church on Earth. Think they all went to hell for being Catholic? And they all prayed the rosary.

Actually, Matthew 6:9 ("The Lord's Prayer") is part of the Rosary.
Also, for one quick Bible text (of many) which expresses the power of prayer, see:

In this youtube video clip, Jimmy Akin sheds some light on this question:
Is the Rosary Just "Vain Repetitions"? -- Jimmy Akin
One of the things Jimmy points out in this video is how "repetition" in prayer is not always "vain repetition", and one of the illustrations he uses here is the prayer found in Psalm 136, as shown here:

(Notice all the repetition.)
Psalm 136 (King James Version) 1 - O give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever. 2 - O give thanks unto the God of gods: for his mercy endureth for ever. 3 - O give thanks to the Lord of lords: for his mercy endureth for ever. 4 - To him who alone doeth great wonders: for his mercy endureth for ever. 5 - To him that by wisdom made the heavens: for his mercy endureth for ever. 6 - To him that stretched out the earth above the waters: for his mercy endureth for ever. 7 - To him that made great lights: for his mercy endureth for ever. 8 - The sun to rule by day: for his mercy endureth for ever. 9 - The moon and stars to rule by night: for his mercy endureth for ever. 10 - To him that smote Egypt in their firstborn: for his mercy endureth for ever. 11 - And brought out Israel from among them: for his mercy endureth for ever. 12 - With a strong hand, and with a stretched out arm: for his mercy endureth for ever. 13 - To him which divided the Red sea into parts: for his mercy endureth for ever. 14 - And made Israel to pass through the midst of it: for his mercy endureth for ever. 15 - But overthrew Pharaoh and his host in the Red sea: for his mercy endureth for ever. 16 - To him which led his people through the wilderness: for his mercy endureth for ever. 17 - To him which smote great kings: for his mercy endureth for ever. 18 - And slew famous kings: for his mercy endureth for ever. 19 - Sihon king of the Amorites: for his mercy endureth for ever. 20 - And Og the king of Bashan: for his mercy endureth for ever. 21 - And gave their land for an heritage: for his mercy endureth for ever. 22 - Even an heritage unto Israel his servant: for his mercy endureth for ever. 23 - Who remembered us in our low estate: for his mercy endureth for ever. 24 - And hath redeemed us from our enemies: for his mercy endureth for ever. 25 - Who giveth food to all flesh: for his mercy endureth for ever. 26 - O give thanks unto the God of heaven: for his mercy endureth for ever.

The Rosary repeats a number of times the "Our Father" prayer from Jesus found in the scriptures, as well as the "Hail Mary" prayer, which is composed of other scriptures. The Rosary serves to prayerfully slow you down, while you meditate on different scenes from the Bible describing various events in the life of Jesus and His human family, and settle into a relaxing and refreshing contemplative prayerful state. (You generally pick some overall prayer objectives for each Rosary you pray also.)

And regarding the false charge made by some posters that Catholics are taught to worship Mary or the saints, they can check out a few links here for starters (if they are genuinely interested in learning the real truth).
I would continue saying the daily Rosary even if there were no “promises” at all. I luv it!
lets work backwards: No doubt by any same person that Mary IS the mother of the Lord. Then you add (or Rome does) just asking Mary to pray for us. Where in the world does that come from , not from the Lord nor any of the apostles. Nor from the Bible. Man made, right? Now for the rest. Luke 1:28, 41 42 43 is confirming that Mary is the mother of the Lord, nothing about praying to her or she praying for you. Nothing about your silly ritual that evidently makes you feel good. If that is the case, go for it, it is not a sin but just an empty ritual some one in Rome thought up a long time ago. Sorry but your rebuttal is lacking in any evidence at all to convince someone that the rosary thing is Biblical. I believe Catholics do it because, well, we always have.
That has absolutely NOTHING to do with what we are talking here. You are making my point for me, so you are saying that it is NOT Biblical, right, and if so, where. One of your other Catholics already tried and gave me scripture that proved Mary was the Mother of the Lord , that is all, nothing about praying to her or asking her to pray for you or praying with beads. You can’t because it came from Rome not the Bible.
I’m not making your point. I’m asking you to think about your man-made doctrine that the Bible contains the entirety of Revelation. That man-made doctrine is found nowhere in the Bible.
