DNA and The Book of Mormon Explained full-length video
FAIR MORMON ^ | Published on Feb 18, 2013

Miraculous claims surrounding the coming forth of the Book of Mormon are an evidence of the prophetic calling of Joseph Smith. Critics intent on discrediting the Restoration point to DNA studies on indigenous American peoples in an attempt to expose Joseph, the Book of Mormon, and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as frauds. Claiming that scientific evidence excludes any possibility that Middle Eastern or ancient Jewish travelers came to the Americas in antiquity, such critics attempt to sow seeds of doubt in the minds of Latter-day Saints and those of other faiths concerning the authenticity of the Book of Mormon as an ancient religious text.

Are these studies credible? Do the data actually show what the critics claim? Do they discredit the Book of Mormon, or is there biological and other scientific evidence that supports the claims that it is indeed an ancient record of a people that once inhabited the Americas?

The Foundation for Apologetic Information and Research (FAIR) interviews scholars and scientists to answer these important questions and reveals the faith-affirming truth that not only are the critics' conclusions and methods flawed, but that there is credible scientific evidence in favor of the Book of Mormon as an ancient religious text.

Show me in the Bible where Jesus ever silent another voice?
_________________________________________

Resty why do you make it so easy for Bible readers ???

Hearing that Jesus had silenced the Sadducees, the Pharisees got together. Matthew 22:34

as for those Pharisees ???

No one could say a word in reply, and from that day on no one dared to ask him any more questions. Matthew 22:46

***

That wasn’t silent that was confounding them, there is a big different, he did not take away their right to speak or to believe what they want too, if he did that would be to silent them.

Instead they tried to silent Jesus on the Cross.

Resty your request in #218 was “Show me in the Bible where Jesus ever silent another voice?”

The Bible states that Jesus “silenced” them...

so I answered what you asked..

If you want the King James Version it reads the same...

But when the Pharisees had heard that he had put the Sadducees to silence, they were gathered together. Matthew 22:34

The word “silence” used in Matthew 22:34 in the Greek means to Muzzle..just what you are complaining to say happened to you...

The LORD Jesus Christ muzzled them.. made them shut up and cease their attempt at preaching unBiblical theories...

Just the thing that happened to you yesterday...

You been a member since 1998 and this is the first time I have met you it seems these feelings must have been festering for a long time.

It appears that the boil festered for so long, it got lanced. (#127)

Now after living in these regions for 17 years the stories regarding the "Mormon Approach" 1865-1900 get very interesting.

I'll bet!

Mayflower Compact

In the name of God, Amen. We, whose names are underwritten, the loyal subjects of our dread Sovereign Lord King James, by the Grace of God, of Great Britain, France, and Ireland, King, defender of the Faith, etc.

Having undertaken, for the Glory of God, and advancements of the Christian faith and honor of our King and Country, a voyage to plant the first colony in the Northern parts of Virginia, do by these presents, solemnly and mutually, in the presence of God, and one another, covenant and combine ourselves together into a civil body politic; for our better ordering, and preservation and furtherance of the ends aforesaid; and by virtue hereof to enact, constitute, and frame, such just and equal laws, ordinances, acts, constitutions, and offices, from time to time, as shall be thought most meet and convenient for the general good of the colony; unto which we promise all due submission and obedience. In witness whereof we have hereunto subscribed our names at Cape Cod the 11th of November, in the year of the reign of our Sovereign Lord King James, of England, France, and Ireland, the eighteenth, and of Scotland the fifty-fourth, 1620.

the Lord’s doctrine too was also to be heard it is up to man to discern which one is correct among the many voices.

If that is truly your stance, then there should be NO problem for you and your fellow mormons that the verifiable information regarding mormonism and Joseph Smith (from mostly mormon sources) is being broadcast on these threads on FR, right? It's up to the individual to "discern" the facts?

It appears that mormon definition of "discernment" is limited to only that which fits the mormon template, and even when proof is provided of lies and distortions of this template are provided, mormons cry "foul".

In other words, "when the prophet speaks, the thinking has been done", and it is no longer "up to man to discern which one is correct among the many voices!"

BTW, the "discernment" of Mitt Romney that he was foreordained to "save" the nation has resulted in the state the nation finds itself in now....he "discerned" that his primary opponents were weak, yet he was the weakest of them all!
