DNA and The Book of Mormon Explained full-length video
FAIR MORMON ^ | Published on Feb 18, 2013

Miraculous claims surrounding the coming forth of the Book of Mormon are an evidence of the prophetic calling of Joseph Smith. Critics intent on discrediting the Restoration point to DNA studies on indigenous American peoples in an attempt to expose Joseph, the Book of Mormon, and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as frauds. Claiming that scientific evidence excludes any possibility that Middle Eastern or ancient Jewish travelers came to the Americas in antiquity, such critics attempt to sow seeds of doubt in the minds of Latter-day Saints and those of other faiths concerning the authenticity of the Book of Mormon as an ancient religious text.

Are these studies credible? Do the data actually show what the critics claim? Do they discredit the Book of Mormon, or is there biological and other scientific evidence that supports the claims that it is indeed an ancient record of a people that once inhabited the Americas?

The Foundation for Apologetic Information and Research (FAIR) interviews scholars and scientists to answer these important questions and reveals the faith-affirming truth that not only are the critics' conclusions and methods flawed, but that there is credible scientific evidence in favor of the Book of Mormon as an ancient religious text.

Do you ever come up for air?

I do occasionally; but not for very often.

Studies have shown, quite definitively, that most people who breathe air will, eventually, die of something.

So, to minimize my chances; I imbibe much less often than others.

Call it my own WOW if you will:

Word of Windiness

Mormons: People don’t get own planets in afterlife

WHAT???

But...

In Mormonism, the concept of divinity centers around an idea of "exaltation" and "eternal progression": the idea that mortals themselves may become gods and goddesses in the afterlife, be rulers of their own heavenly kingdoms, have spirit children, and increase in power and glory forever as a result of their posterity. Mormons understand that there are many gods and goddesses in the cosmos, including a Heavenly Mother. However, the three persons of the Christian Trinity (God the Father, Jesus, and the Holy Ghost) are to be the only objects of worship.

Exaltation and eternal progression[edit]

In Mormonism, the goal of each adherent is to achieve "exaltation" via the atonement of Jesus, as a result of which they inherit all the attributes of God the Father, including godhood. Mormons believe that these people will become gods and goddesses in the afterlife, and will have "all power, glory, dominion, and knowledge".[6] Moreover, Mormons teach that exalted people will live with their earthly families and also "have spirit children".[7] Their posterity will continue to grow forever.

According to the belief, exaltation is available only to those who have earned the highest "degree" of the celestial kingdom.[8] As prerequisites for this "greatest gift of God",[9] adherents believe that either in this life or the afterlife, they must become "perfect" and they must participate in all the required ceremonies. Though not necessary, their exaltation can be "sealed upon them" by the Holy Ghost via the Second Anointing. One of the key qualifications for exaltation is being united in a celestial marriage to an opposite-sex partner via the ordinance of sealing,[10][11] either in person or by proxy after they have died. In the 19th century, some leaders of the LDS Church taught that participation in plural marriage was also a requirement of exaltation.[12] The LDS Church abandoned the practice over a century ago and teaches that only a single celestial marriage is required for exaltation.[13]

* it's in the Scriptures: D&C 132:16-25

Some modern LDS Church leaders have taught that there are people living on other earths. For instance, apostle Joseph Fielding Smith (1876–1972) wrote:

"We are not the only people that the Lord has created. We have brothers and sisters on other earths. They look like us because they, too, are the children of God and were created in his image, for they are also his offspring."[40]

and

"...the great universe of stars has multiplied beyond the comprehension of men. Evidently each of these great systems is governed by divine law; with divine presiding Gods, for it would be unreasonable to assume that each was not so governed."[41]

Apostle Neal A. Maxwell (1926–2004) wrote, "we do not know how many inhabited worlds there are, or where they are. But certainly we are not alone."[42]

Do you NOT find it strange that NONE of your temple rituals are found in ANY scripture on the face of the earth?

Not in Wiccan, Buddhist, Shinto, Muslim, Christian or even MORMON???

"I have not dwell on any of these issues so many of you seem to be consumed with so excuse me if I am not that familiar."

Do you care to "dwell" on the matter of the LDS temple rites and how they are not even remotely Biblical? You claim to be "familiar" with the LDS teaching and practices that proxy baptisms for the dead occur in LDS temple baptismal fonts.

But have you "dwelt" on the facts presented that the lavers in Moses' and Solomon's temples were actually used for physical cleansing and not as baptismal fonts for proxy baptisms for the dead since baptism wasn't introduced until hundreds of years later?

Are you "familiar" with the passages in the Bible that state that we die only once and then judgement? That according to the Bible there is no "2nd chance"?

I get a kick out of those who claim that deathbed conversions are a joke, yet will then claim that after one dies the dead can get a 2nd chance. What is the difference?

Is there anything besides fealty to a false prophet that you would like to "dwell" on?

ah what?
Your chosen belief system has yet once again overturned what was taught from its founding and you appear to be dismissing it?
How are you apparently so confident that what you stated here wont be changed in the future?

So dream on foxies.....

Also that my family and husband, we will be together for ever for all eternity as well as for my extended family to have an opportunity to receive this vicarious gift.

It appears that YOU are the dreamer here.

SLC data says that only 15% of ALL MORMONs will be with GOD the Father for eternity.

Which of YOUR 'family' are WORTHY enough for that vicarious gift?

It will be on the Telestial Level but your religion doesn’t allow you to imbibe..

SURE it does!!

As long as it is NOT hot!!!

All that other stuff that gets blamed on the WOW is mere men MISINTERPRETING what scripture PLAINLY says!

Mormons secretly hope - the 15 percenters anyway - that it will be COLD in the Celestial Level; so they can eat MEAT!

The 85 %ers will just go ahead and have a sumptuous half rack of ribs no matter WHAT the temperature is!

Christian which is only mention 3 times in the NT

___________________________________________

while the term mormon is never mentioned...

nor is the name Joseph Smith...

Nor are the latter day saints based in the United States..

Mormon was a prophet on the western hemisphere from the tribe of Joseph.

The Bible is the record of Judah

The Book of Mormon is the record of Joseph.

Ezek 37

( and make a covenant with Joseph, which many Christian dismiss as vital )

16 Moreover, thou son of man, take thee one stick, and write upon it, For Judah, and for the children of Israel his companions: then take another stick, and write upon it, For Joseph, the stick of Ephraim, and for all the house of Israel his companions:

17 And join them one to another into one stick; and they shall become one in thine hand.

__ 18 ¶And when the children of thy people shall speak unto thee, saying, Wilt thou not shew us what‍ thou meanest‍ by these?

19 Say unto them, Thus saith the Lord God; Behold, I will take the stick of Joseph, which is‍ in the hand of Ephraim, and the tribes of Israel his fellows, and will put them with him, even‍ with the stick of Judah, and make them one stick, and they shall be one in mine hand.

20 ¶And the sticks whereon thou writest shall be in thine hand before their eyes.

21 And say unto them, Thus saith the Lord God; Behold, I will take the children of Israel from among the heathen, whither they be gone, and will gather‍ them on every side, and bring them into their own land:

22 And I will make them one nation‍ in the land upon the mountains of Israel; and one‍ king shall be king to them all: and they shall be no more two‍ nations, neither shall they be divided into two kingdoms any more at all:

23 Neither shall they defile themselves any more with their idols, nor with their detestable things, nor with any of their transgressions: but I will save‍ them out of all their dwellingplaces, wherein they have sinned, and will cleanse‍ them: so shall they be my people, and I will be their God.

24 And David‍ my servant shall be‍ king over them; and they all shall have one shepherd: they shall also walk in my judgments, and observe my statutes, and do them.

25 And they shall dwell in the land‍ that I have given unto Jacob my servant, wherein your fathers have dwelt; and they shall dwell therein, even‍ they, and their children, and their children’s children for ever: and my servant David shall be‍ their prince‍ for ever.

26 Moreover I will make a covenant‍ of peace with them; it shall be an everlasting covenant‍ with them: and I will place them, and multiply them, and will set my sanctuary‍ in the midst of them for evermore.

28 And the heathen‍ shall know‍ that I the Lord‍ do sanctify‍ Israel, when my sanctuary shall be in the midst of them for evermore

Mormon was a prophet on the western hemisphere from the tribe of Joseph.
_____________________________________

There wasn’t any western hemisphere at the time of Joseph the son of Jacob, the son of Isaac, the son of Abraham..

and no prophet named mormon is mentioned in the Bible...

you were talking about what is in the Bible so you made the rules and now you want to break them ???

stick to your own rules..

Either its in the Bible or its not..

and the term Mormon is not in the Bible..

nor in Josephus or any other history book or fiction written before 1830...

There is no prophet named Mormon in the Bible...

There is no “record of Judah” in the Bible..

The book of Mormon might to you be a “record of joseph” Smith..but its not a record of anyone living during Bible times..

its all made up (no friendly nickname)
