DNA and The Book of Mormon Explained full-length video
FAIR MORMON ^ | Published on Feb 18, 2013

Miraculous claims surrounding the coming forth of the Book of Mormon are an evidence of the prophetic calling of Joseph Smith. Critics intent on discrediting the Restoration point to DNA studies on indigenous American peoples in an attempt to expose Joseph, the Book of Mormon, and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as frauds. Claiming that scientific evidence excludes any possibility that Middle Eastern or ancient Jewish travelers came to the Americas in antiquity, such critics attempt to sow seeds of doubt in the minds of Latter-day Saints and those of other faiths concerning the authenticity of the Book of Mormon as an ancient religious text.

Are these studies credible? Do the data actually show what the critics claim? Do they discredit the Book of Mormon, or is there biological and other scientific evidence that supports the claims that it is indeed an ancient record of a people that once inhabited the Americas?

The Foundation for Apologetic Information and Research (FAIR) interviews scholars and scientists to answer these important questions and reveals the faith-affirming truth that not only are the critics' conclusions and methods flawed, but that there is credible scientific evidence in favor of the Book of Mormon as an ancient religious text.

“Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? “

Hi Restornu.

Saints, those who are set apart for god, holy ones, is the name given by God to all Christians who have entrusted themselves to Him.

It is not limited to Christians who were prophets.

Believe me, young Smith was neither a Christian, nor a Prophet.

He was a horndog-scammer, certainly, as testified in court.

So yes, true Christians will be involved in judging the world.

It is you guy who use the word Mormons as a nickname you know our name as LDS but if you want to play games you will have to do among yourselves.

You are wrong yet again!!!

Specifically, we have obtained registrations for the name “The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints,” “Mormon", “Book of Mormon” and related trade and service marks from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and corresponding agencies in a significant number of foreign countries.

Media Letter
26 June 2008 — Salt Lake City  (http://newsroom.lds.org/additional-resource/media-letter)

*The following is a letter from Elder Lance B. Wickman, General Counsel of the Church to publishers of major newspapers, TV stations and magazines. It was sent out on Tuesday, June 24, 2008.

Recent events have focused the media spotlight on a polygamous sect near San Angelo, Texas, calling itself the “Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.” As you probably know, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has absolutely no affiliation with this polygamous sect. Decades ago, the founders of that sect rejected the doctrines of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, were excommunicated, and then started their own religion. To the best of our knowledge, no one at the Texas compound has ever been a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Unfortunately, however, some of the media coverage of the recent events in Texas has caused members of the public to confuse the doctrines and members of that group and our church. We have received numerous inquiries from confused members of the public who, by listening to less than careful media reports, have come to a grave misunderstanding about our respective doctrines and faith. Based on these media reports many have erroneously concluded that there is some affiliation between the two – or even worse, that they are one and the same.

Over the years, in a careful effort to distinguish itself, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has gone to significant lengths to protect its rights in the name of the church and related matters. Specifically, we have obtained registrations for the name “The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints,” “Mormon,” “Book of Mormon” and related trade and service marks from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and corresponding agencies in a significant number of foreign countries.

We are confident that you are committed to avoiding misleading statements that cause unwarranted confusion and that may disparage or infringe the intellectual property rights discussed above. Accordingly, we respectfully request the following:

  1. As reflected in the AP Style Guide, we ask that you and your organization refrain from referring to members of that polygamous sect as “fundamentalist Mormons” or “fundamentalist” members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
  2. We ask that, when reporting about this Texas-based polygamous sect or any other polygamous group, you avoid either explicitly or implicitly any inference that these groups are affiliated with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
  3. On those occasions when it may be necessary in your reporting to refer to the historical practice of plural marriage in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, that you make very clear that the Church does not condone the practice of polygamy and that it has been forbidden in the Church for over one hundred years. Moreover, we absolutely condemn arranged or forced “marriages” of underage girls to anyone under any circumstances.

Stated simply, we would like to be known and recognized for whom we are and what we believe, and not be inaccurately associated with beliefs and practices that we condemn in the strongest terms. We would be grateful if you could circulate or copy this letter to your editorial staff and to your legal counsel.

We thank you for your consideration of these important matters.

Sincerely,

Lance B. Wickman

General Counsel

I detect orneriness here:

Matthew 15:16
"Are you still so dull?" Jesus asked them.

When are you finally going to ponder the inconsistencies of Mormonism and ponder them?

Where are the ones that jump on nearly every mormon thread calling the Inmans liars and unChristian?

They; unlike restornu; have learned the lesson.

When challenged to put up or shut up; they actually checked out the things we were posting and found them to be true.

Therefore they have no valid reason to keep repeating a false mantra.

restornu is merely a Very slow learner...

That is not an accurate report but what else is new...

Don't you get it?

This SOP of yours is well known to EVERYONE by now!

You make an accusation; and CLAIM that the evidence to back up your claim is 'Out there somewhere'.

I thought folks learned that it didn't work the hundreds of times that PD tried it.

It seems some here don’t know their scriptures that well, and forget that it will be all of the prophets even the prophet Joseph smith that will judge the world.
_______________________________________

You write that silly rot and then post scripture from the Christian Bible in an attempt to back up you statement that the charlatan Joey Smith is equal to the LORD Jesus Christ ???

You woman whatever your name is, are in danger of being punished by God for heresy..

you’re the one in trouble for denying the LORD Jesus Christ with your mocking and insults to the only Savior and Judge of the world..

If I were you woman I would tread very carefully...you are in danger of the fires of hell and are ignorant of how close you are of being cut off from God forever..

Joseph Smith was never a prophet...

and its not the prophets who will judge the world ...its God...

You don’t know enough to teach anyone or to “clear up some disinformation which needs to be understood in its whole context”

for years you have proven yourself to be pigheaded and willing to challenge the LORD Jesus Christ Himself without fear or trembling..

The devil did that before you and so did your pretend lord and god and savior Joseph Smith of Vermont..

But its not Joseph Smith of Vermont who shed His blood on the Cross and died to save you from your sins..

It was Jesus Christ of Nazareth....

Come down from His heaven where He used to play marbles with Lucifer who was an angel but never a relative ..it was Jesus who created Lucifer and the other angels..Jeus was there in Heaven in the beginning as the Word of God and where He created everything even you..

He came down to be born of a virgin who never had had sex with man or mormon god ..but who conceived “by the Holy Ghost and by the power of the Highest..”

if you want to be filthy minded like your mormon leaders and insist that some Mormon god had physical sex with Mary like your father had with your mother that’s between you and God but the Christian Bible tells me Mary never had sex to get pregnant and I have no trouble believing Mary never had sex at all..

only a carnal mind that cannot believe God would think that way ..

oh that’s your Joseph Smith, Brigham Young, John Taylor and the host of other Mormon prophets and presidents and apostles and elders and high priests and bishops in their ignorance and worldly views..who know nothing about God..and never wanted to know..

The baby was born with the dark skin of the Middle East and was named Jesus which means Salvation, Emmanuel which means God with us because He was the way of Salvation, and He was God come in the flesh ..

He came to die on the Cross and He knew just when that would happen..

Where Jesus was tempted by Lucifer/Satan 3 times and did not yield your particular choice of “savior” Joey Smith ran to meet Satan with his arms wide open and embraced him and broke even one of the Ten Commandments repeatedly and made a religion of them..

That’s what you worship and praise..a fallen man who was influence by the devil and scorned the LORD Jesus Christ..

Satan wanted the other angels to call him “lord” too..

God who took on flesh as the LORD Jesus Christ shed His Blood on the Cross and died there winning salvation for the whole world, even Joey Smith, Tommy Monson and you..and He did the work to save me right there without any help from Joey Smith..

Joey Smith rejected Jesus although according to what you have said in the past he heard about Jesus as the LORD and Savior many times growing up...

you called the area he lived in “burnt over” you meant it as a slur towards Christianity but it is obvious from your own words that God sent many men to preach the truth to the Smith family ..its not God’s fault they chose to dabble in witchcraft instead of reading the Bible..

God gave Joey Smith many chances to repent and get right but he never did..he was hard headed and hard hearted like you and the other Mormons in these threads..

When the LORD Jesus Christ shed His blood on the Cross to save me He screamed out loud enough for me to hear down through the ages “IT IS FINISHED”

I heard Him and got the message..

Why didn’t you ???

Let he or she who have ears hear what Jesus cried out on the Cross

“IT IS FINISHED”

Can you hear Him, woman ??

The echo of His words are still vibrating and ringing out today 2,000 years later..its a constant sound..

He did it all, there’s not one thing you can do to save yourself or anyone else..

“IT IS FINISHED”

If you want to play cute ...

"If we get our salvation, we shall have to pass by him [Joseph Smith]

There is "no salvation without accepting Joseph Smith.

"I tell you, Joseph holds the keys, and none of us can get into the celestial kingdom without passing by him.

"It is because the Lord called Joseph Smith that salvation is again available to mortal men.... If it had not been for Joseph Smith and the restoration, there would be no salvation,"

No man in this dispensation will enter the courts of heaven, without the approbation of the Prophet Joseph Smith, Jun.

If I ever pass into the heavenly courts, it will be by the consent of the Prophet Joseph.

true believers are called Christians: Alma 46:14–15 .

Oh?

That's a neat trick since CHRIST had not yet appeared on the Earth!
