Many Protestants convert because one Catholic dared to share the truth.

Protestant like Catholic does not mean Christian...

I suspect there never has been a born again Christian who has converted to the Catholic religion...

"many Christians want to have a voice in church government"

This is why Protestantism led to Utilitarianism, Socialism, Hedonism, Hegelianism, Marxism, and Communism.

Everyone had his opinion. Some had more popular opinions than others. And those are the opinions that the people followed over the edge of the cliff.

Wow, blaming Protestants who did not agree with one-party rule of faith for communism now

What it really comes down to is: Does one believe that you can be saved only “by Grace through faith” (God providing it all, and yourself doing nothing, but receiving the Gift) or do you believe that one can be saved by their own works (and if you claim: a combination of Grace and works, then you don’t really believe in Grace).

I don’t care what Church a person goes to, as long as they believe in Jesus the way He told us to, not “Church Fathers (protestant or catholic)”.

-J.S.

Should we not just get back to the basics of the Gospel (in all Churches)??

Somehow not having everyone submit to a central authority is communism?

So you deny that Wojtyla = John Paul II was anti-Marxist? Lots of Popes opposed socialism: see http://www.tfp.org/tfp-home/catholic-perspective/what-the-popes-have-to-say-about-socialism.html.

I saw that. I just don’t see the Catholic reference, only Christian.

I think this same piece was posted last week from another website. Same author, same book, same topic just a different site.

Here is the thread. It’s been done already.

It’s like he’s saying that Islam is really a kind of Catholicism. [**mind boggles**]

Perhaps you can all schedule your articles. This is a retread from last week and an advertisement to boot:

Just makes others think you are spamming.

I think after folks went to a Devin Rose blog to rebut his claims, he probably does not appreciate the exposure now.

>>Why are people being pinged to a discussion that they aren’t even a part of? For their own edification and understanding to the poster’s point? Color me skeptical. Protestants jump on Catholics as if they were playing knockout king.<<

Last I checked this is a discussion “forum.” Which if we want one on one discussions the PM is the tool.

Mary had a small roll? I am sure that your mother feels the same way about giving birth and raising you.

Try that next Mothers Day. “Hey Mom, thanks for that SMALL ROLL of giving birth to me and then raising me to adulthood. Too bad you couldn’t spend more trouble on me”

I am only kidding. I just thought it was funny how Jesus’s mother had a small roll.

‘I suspect there never has been a born again Christian who has converted to the Catholic religion...’

I suspect that you are quite misinformed. As a matter of fact I know of more than one Born Again Christian that has converted to Roman Catholicism.

I also know of some Catholics that have become Born Again Christians and even some that have become Jehovas Witnesses and a couple that became Mormon.

Let’s avoid making absurd statements.
