Now that he's out of office, former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg is stepping up his efforts to battle the National Rifle Association and expand gun control laws. Bloomberg detailed his plans in an interview with the New York Times published Monday in which he predicted his crusades against guns, smoking, and obesity would serve him well in the afterlife.
"I am telling you if there is a God, when I get to heaven Im not stopping to be interviewed. I am heading straight in. I have earned my place in heaven. Its not even close," Bloomberg said.
Bloomberg is prepared to spend $50 million this year alone on his gun control push, The New York Times' Jeremy Peters reports.
According to the report, he will use the investment to build "a nationwide grass-roots network to motivate voters who feel strongly about curbing gun violence." Peters wrote that Bloomberg "tossed out the $50 million figure out as if he were describing the tip he left on a restaurant check" and hinted he could spend even more in his battle against the NRA.

2. I still think Bloomberg is an atheist.
You may be correct.
3. That monstrous ego could never admit to the reality of a Higher Being.
Undoubtedly Stalin was TAUGHT to have that monstrous ego. As they say, by two years of age "the cake is baked."
To me the presidents of Russia seemed to have taken on the mantle of czars.
John Emerich Edward Dalberg-Acton, 1st Baron Acton, KCVO, DL (10 January 1834 19 June 1902)known as Sir John Dalberg-Acton, 8th Bt from 1837 to 1869 and usually referred to simply as Lord Actonwas an English Catholic historian, politician, and writer.
He was the only son of Sir Ferdinand Dalberg-Acton, 7th Baronet and a grandson of the Neapolitan admiral Sir John Acton, 6th Baronet. He is famous for his remark:
Hah, you give him some credit with good intentions. Nice guy.
That is a comforting thought. I have lost all my family and my husband to death. They all had VERY peaceful, easy deaths.
PRIDE is the lead-off and worst of the seven deadly ones.
1. Pride--arrogance
2. Anger
3. Greed
4. Lust
5. Lust
6. Envy
7. Sloth
He’s going to wear that statement around his neck in Hell.
Nobody earns their way to Heaven.
I hear Satan speaking.
“I am telling you if there is a God,
Someday Bloomberg is going to close his eyes in this dimension and then immediately reopen them in another dimension. And then he’ll say, “Aw, hell!, because after his sentence is read at Judgement, that is where he is going. Yea, verily, it will suck to be him.
Ok Mike. You want your place in Heaven. Simple. Just sell everything you own, give it to the poor, and Follow Jesus.
It’s as simple as threading a camel through the eye of a needle.
Sorry, Mike. God is perfect. You wouldn't survive in His presence.
I’d say he’s got a Napoleon complex except that would be insulting to Napoleon.
Don’t forget that Bloomberg was extremely pro-homosexuality and pro-abortion as well.
What an arrogant jerk. One does not “earn” one’s place in Heaven. Faith in Jesus is all it takes. Bloomberg thinks too much of himself....pride is not a virtue, it is one of the deadly sins.
I missed the word “if” the first time around.....he has no faith, then. Sad.
How about if that Dictator of Good Deeds were a billionaire, but spent OPM to do each good "deed", all the while taking full credit?
Nanny State PING!
Jeepers ... thanks for the ping!
