If you came away with that conclusion from reading that account....you are part of the sexual immorality problem in this country - the Shulamite was a gloried nurse to help keep an extremely old man warm - and NOT in the sexual sense.
IF Americans had not of been so immoral in heterosexual matters, which your flippant remark is indicative of, then this homosexual plague would never have become an issue. Sadly, the legitimization of homosexual behavior has its roots in the legitimization in hetereosexual sin and license to practice evil (unbridled and unashamed lust). BTW - America has been polygamous for years - it is called “serial polygamy” with doing it one spouse at a time. No respect for the permanence of marriage.

Human beings are not animals. Polygamy was never seen as a “good” thing in the Bible....it ONLY brought problems for those persons that practiced it.
Homosexuality and Polygamy are BOTH sexual immorality and should both be equally suppressed by any “God Fearing” people.

King David practiced polygamy and was a man after God’s heart. The fact that Deacons and Elders were supposed to be the husband of ONE wife means there were Christians who had more than one.
I’d prefer to keep homosexuality and polygamy illegal in the US as offensive to society, but I find polygamy much less offensive and believe it has a much stronger case for acceptance by the courts than homosexual marriage.

Yes, and in each case these plural “wives” brought them grief and harmed the Kingdom of Israel and the world. Also, by the time the Lord Jesus was on earth, plural marriage was no longer recognized. It actually was never “sanctioned” by God at all....more or less tolerated at best.

One of the big differences between homosexuality and pedophilia is that you don’t have to be religious to despise pedophiles. I’m of the opinion that that’s what’s going to keep it from ever being accepted.

I understand, but they ultimate goal of the sexual revolution is the sexual use of children. That has always been the goal. The revolutionaries are headed to it. What makes you think they won’t start to think they can consent? In many places you can have an abortion and be handed contraception without parental consent, which has contributed to destigmatisng underage sex. IMHO, the process of destigmatising underage sex, eventually to be followed by legalising and then normalising, has already begun. Having said that, I believe polygamy will follow before paedophillia does, but the process is already under way.
