Yesterday I asked some friends to pray for me over at facebook, because I was having some stomach troubles. Well this morning I think my troubles may be worse than I thought. Yesterday I woke up with severe cramps and bowel pains that lasted about 20 minutes until I had a movement. The pain went away, but I was sweating bullets and the whole experience was extremely painful.
Then about 45 minutes later it all happened again, but this time all that came out was bile. I again felt better afterwards, and then every 45 minutes through the day I had the same troubles. Needless to say I stopped eating and only drank a few fluids.
By evening the pain was subsiding and I thought that I would make it to work today with this whole incident being nothing more than something I ate, but alas it was not to be.
I woke up this morning about 4:30 with the same pain, but not nearly as bad as the first time yesterday morning. Like then I went to the restroom, but this time along with the bile was blood. I will not lie, I am a bit afraid. I will go see my Dr as soon as I can this morning.
Because some will ask, I still have my appendix, I had a Colonoscopy about 5 years ago, I had my prostate checked and I am on medication for a swollen prostate but it's under control. I'm not running a fever, although yesterday morning when this first came on I was a bit feverish every time I did have to go which was about every 45 min as I said. When I did go nothing but bile was the result. This morning is the first time I had blood.
There is no history of colon cancer in the family, so I'm sure it's nothing to serious, but as I said, I am a bit afraid. Other than my skeletal system, where I have back and nerve pain I suffer as an ongoing problem from a motorcycle wreck and a car accident which landed my wife in a wheelchair, I am pretty much a picture of health.
As anyone who knows me will tell you I never ever get sick. I am one of those freaks who gets over a 24 hour bug in an hour, and the flue that usually lasts others a week I am over in less than a day. You can count the days I have missed work in the last 20 years due to illness on one hand.
Well, again, I ask for your prayers and please keep my wife in them too, as I think this worries her more than it does me. I think I'll read some more of the book of Job. Just seems appropriate somehow.

I had the same problem a year or so ago. I had bowl movements of bloody diarrhea, and I was very weak. I called my wife, who was over at her parents, and told her that I had to go to the hospital.
The doctor quickly diagnosed me as being dehydrated. As I think back on it, I realized that I was drinking almost no water during the day. I drank only when very thirsty.
It taught me a lesson. I now drink several liters per day, even if I am not thirsty.

Prayers up, OneVike. It is probably a minor irritation, but you are doing the right thing. Please let us know how you are feeling after you see your doctor.
I agree with Sivad. Diverticulitis (treatable) is very possible. If the blood is bright red then cancer of some sort is not likely. “Old” blood in your stool resembling coffee grounds would be more worrisome. But we’re not doctors at FR so please hurry to see one this morning.
There are some nasty bugs going around. Sounds like your gut flora are totally wacked. Eating BRATS is the wrong approach, but what does the AMA know about gut flora? Meat broths, yogurt, kefir, probiotics might give you the boost you need to get back to normal.

I urge you to focus on what the Bible says about your healing. The more you focus on symptoms, doctors, and what other people went through, the more you will be distracted by what is taking place in the physical realm. Christ has already paid the price for your healing. I care about you and want you well, but the battle is fought first in your own mind. What you “consider” right now will greatly affect you. Yes, see your doctor. Your symptoms are real, and the devil wants you to be afraid. The evil one is the author of fear. God’s truth will always trump our reality. Focus on what the Word says. The Great Physician wants you well (3 John 2). He is not the Author of disease. Jesus paid for our healing and it is a done deal (I Peter 2:24). God bless you.
Prayers up. As you can see, there are numerous posts from those who have had similar issues, none were cancer, which should give you solace. In late February, I began having lower gastro issues with bleeding etc. which I passed off as a virus. Ten days later, it became worse along with fever and dizziness. I went to my doctor and a week of tests including endoscopy, showed nothing, but I was still sick. Finally, they ordered a stool sample and I had the potentially fatal c-diff (clostrium difficile) which in 98% of all cases is related to antibiotic usage. I have not had an antibiotic in eight years, so I contracted it somewhere in the community, which is rare. After two rounds, a month of the most heinous antibiotic in the world, almost three months of complete bed rest, I was finally able to clear it from my system. Ask your doctor about this possibility.
