I’m not sure of what you are trying to say. But, I can say this in response. The catholic church acknowledges that there have been bad popes, anti-popes and a multitude of clerics who did more to destroy the church than to build it.
That shows that the Church, as in the case of Israel, is under
Divine protection. The Church is not holy because of the men in it, it is holy because Jesus Christ is the head of the church.
How many pair of sandals do you own? Do you have one change of clothes and a walkingstick. Do you own a car, or walk everywhere. I don't recall the apostles having a computer or internet access.
Please keep talking you are destroying the prot case more with every word.
Does your church allow homosexual "marriage" or will that be allowed next week?
How about Contraception, or abortion? Ordination of women?
An excellent man? With mistresses? Who used the power of the church to wage war on his family’s long-standing rivals?
Yeah, for some reason I’m thinking your assessment is probably not the most unbiased.

What I’m trying to say is this:
You cannot use the fact that the Catholic church preserved God’s word as evidence that it was free from error, as we have the obvious example of Israel, who was full of error, who also preserved God’s word. Thus, it’s entirely possible that the Catholic church can be in error, and yet, through the power of God, still preserve God’s word faithfully.

I believe you have absolutely no idea of just how many of your protestant brethren stay home and ‘church themselves’ on the Lord’s Day, and who think its just okey-dokey.

The Bible teaches us to find common ground with people we evangelize
Paul went so far as to claim the altar of an unknown god was basis for him to gain entry into the conversations of the locals
So it might just be that protestants who wear vestments are trying to find common ground to make it easier for catholics to join their flocks
or it might just be that they kept some of the unbiblical traditions from whence they came
If one finds themselves in a septic tank
It is prudent to climb out
That doesn’t mean one doesn’t carry traces of their journey with them
But it is still a more preferable option than submerging one’s self

The reason Angelicans (Episcopalians), Lutherans and Presbyterians wear vestments is because they they made their services to be almost identical to the Catholic Church, especially Lutherans and Episcopalians who like to call themselves Catholic-lite.
That does not make sense to me, perhaps you can flesh it out a little bit. How could Israel be ‘full of error’ yet preserve the Word of God? Same goes with the Catholic Church.
If you are saying what I think you are saying I answered that already, the Church is Holy because Jesus Christ is Holy, not because of the sinful men of Israel or sinful Catholics.
I don’t understand the insult you are trying to impart. If you are saying that homosexuals are being ordained in the Church I would sadly have to agree with you. However the Catholic Church condemns sodomy where as some churches today promote it.
So, do you approve of sodomite marriage, is it promoted in your church or considered sinful? How about abortion? Birth control?
We are all called to celibacy. Married persons, homosexuals, single people. At least that is what the Catholic Church teaches, other churches, I don’t know.

if by condemning sodomy, you mean free sodomy, i would agree
but when there’s a cost to it, the catholic church and some professed catholics on this forum have seemingly chosen denial, delay and lawyering up
(the delay and lawyering up are institutional not a reference to members of this forum)
i don’t live far from the diocese of wilmington
not sure there’s ever been official condemnation from the church
my church- like the catholic church has conflicted positions, conflicted members and conflicted associations
but i don’t know of anyone being arrested for being pro-life on one of our affiliated campuses as happened at notre dame a few years back
homosexual marriage is another issue- officially my church is opposed, but practically it is divided as i feel certain you’d find among catholic congregants as well
i live in a relatively conservative part of the country, so the local views tend to reflect that- but we make no pretense that all our members, all our churches, all our clergy, all our universities march in lock step
when we look over the horizon of those associated with our church, we tend to see flawed humans who are fallible and who sin; who need grace and who should show grace; we do not see ourselves as one cookie cutter voting bloc on any issue
we take positions as a church
as a local body
as individuals
those positions are not always the same
this, i believe happens in your church as well
for crying out loud, most catholics on this group don’t agree with much of what the current pope says
we wrestle with weaknesses
we condemn sexual abuse in all forms
and all the more when in comes from a person in authority
we are imperfect
so imperfect that i may need to walk away from the organization in the future
birth control is not a subject you’ll find many protestant churches take a stand on- so it’s odd you would bring it up- you might as well ask me our position on the real presence or purgatory
