Thank you NKP.
Why the sacred heart, but no mention of anything else sacred?
Well, actually you do get mentions of other things sacred, such as: Jesus; God; Christianity; Love; sacrificial self-giving; Catholic and apostolic faith; the Cross; the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass; the Eucharist; the Church; the kingship of Christ; St. Margaret Mary; prayer, and missionary activity.
The author did, however, leave out J.S. Bach’s ‘Toccata and Fugue in d minor’, and W.A. Mozart’s ‘Requiem.’
......Oh remember Mathew 11:25-28 about Jesus being “meek and humble of heart ?”
“......Oh remember Mathew 11:25-28 about Jesus being meek and humble of heart ?
I do remember this, but it doesn’t mention “sacred heart.”
Just wondering why they leave out Jesus himself as sacred, but focus on his heart alone as sacred?
Why not the sacred feet? Scripture says “blessed are the feet of him who brings good news”.
Meditating on how deep His love for us is found in every one of His wounds, every beat of HIs Heart, every sigh he experiences on our behalf.
The Sacred Heart IS the Heart of Jesus.
Did you miss that?
“The Sacred Heart of Jesus is the entirety of Christ’s love and devotion for us. It is not a thing but a complete concept of our loving God. It encompasses not just the love of Jesus but also His Father and the Holy Spirit.”
OK, the entirety of Christ’s love is amazingly wonderful, obviously.
You do realize that God the Father and God the Holy Spirit are different persons of the Godhead than Christ.
Why do you just give credit to Jesus?
Why do you not give credit to the “sacred heart of the Father?”
Why do you not give credit to the “sacred heart of the Spirit?”
Why call it the “sacred heart”, instead of the Loving Heart of God? That seems more in line with your understanding of the concept.
“The Sacred Heart IS the Heart of Jesus. Did you miss that?”
Oh, no. I didn’t miss it. I’m asking for clarification as to how you can miss all of Jesus?
We don’t. Is this a figment of your imagination?

Slyfox,
Thank you for your kindness in posting a link to share the Roman perspective on this concept.
It is interesting reading.
Absolutely noting wrong with spending time meditating on the love and grace of God, as represented in the sacrifice of Christ. I wish more Christians understood what that sacrifice actually means, why we must entrust ourselves to it for salvation and judicially & positionally, what it accomplished. Unfortunately, it rarely, rarely rises beyond thinking about His suffering and love.
Thanks again.
Thanks for posting. I never understood this devotion. It’s a shame that so many devotions have fallen into disuse. Just too much noise and distraction in society..
There is no mention of “sacred heart of Jesus” in the bible, therefore....
