From Jehovah’s Witnesses to Catholicism: My Journey
In 2005, I find myself inside a Catholic church for midnight mass. My future wife, born and raised in the Catholic Church, by my side; silently showing me something that I never thought I’d see or feel. At the age of 31, a realization set in that I never would have expected to occur – thus begins another part of my journey to the Church, my home.
Peering back into my childhood, I realize that my journey actually began as a child. My father was in the military so our family traveled around quite a bit. I was born in San Francisco, California while my father was stationed there in the Army in 1974. Both of my parents are ‘cradle’ Catholics and had very different experiences with the Catholic Church. Throughout the various moves from place to place, my parents were contacted by Jehovah’s Witnesses. Their message seemed to touch my parents enough to eventually become baptized in 1984 as Jehovah’s Witnesses.

Biblical discipleship, clinging to the Christ of the Cross, is everything to the regenerated believer-disciple-priest.

That’s true.
“Truly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven” (Matt. 18:18)
That’s true.
“All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation” (2 Cor. 5:18)
That’s true.
“So we are ambassadors for Christ” (2 Cor. 5:20)
And that’s true.
Yes, this IS about you. Christ died for you too. He wants you to follow Him, and warns you against those who “teach for doctrines the commandments of men.” (Mark 7:7)
Doesn’t sound like fraternal correction to me.

However, the point is that salvation is in Christ. I wish for this dear soul that he knows Christ.

Yes, the author is clearly saying “Christ” but, as a writer, he was looking for a more, I guess, “literary” way of saying it. Writers frequently do it.

Yep hard to get the point of the story when an anti-Catholic is so busy searching for anti material they forget to actually read. Or perhaps they never really learned.

Six months ago, Catholics were telling us that they never bring up, talk about, strategize over, or otherwise consume their little Catholic brains thinking about anything ‘protestant’. And yet here we are - twice in one day.
Now I suppose we could argue about whether, in the Catholic mind, the Jehovah's Witnesses qualify as 'anything protestant'. On that note, I'll allow you to go first.
If I remember correctly the statement also inluded something along the lines of they didn’t care what others did anyway. They do like to parade out the converts however. Not the ones that went jihad from being Catholic mind you.
Jehovah’s Witness, like Mormonism, is considered non-Christian by Catholics, not Protestant Christian.
Catholics are Christian, however. The entire Mass is centered on Christ.
