At Linton Hall Military School, a boarding school for boys ages 6 to 16, nuns supervised showers, humiliated children who accidentally wet the bed, and beat children. Fortunately, the school ceased being a military boarding school many years ago, and the principal of the school is not a nun.
sounds like they’re lucky the .22s stayed at the rifle range
You're really having a hard time coming up with Catholic-bashing stuff, aren't ya?
and the principal of the school is not a nun.

I’m not even Catholic and even I see this as whining BS.
Children have been treated differently throughout the ages. In Elizabethan era, the infants were tied into a wooden bed with a hole in the middle for their waste. Many American Indians tied their babies to a wooden board for care. Head and foot binding... Children treated as chattel or slaves.
For much of human history, that was the norm.
Being disciplined... wow. How terrible.
(My childhood was a hundred times worse than this. When the kid is actually starving to the point of eating out of a dumpster or killing rabbits for food... then we can talk.)
Kinda reminds me of this:
Musloids are quite... physical... with their children to this day.
A four-year old article. I rest my case.
What is untrue about that statement?
Besides that, it sounds pretty much par for the course in that era. Public schools treated kids pretty much the same. They certainly didn't do anything near what would occur in a common, ordinary Madrassa to this day.
How true.

I had perhaps a dozen nuns in the course of my education. There isn’t one I’d lift a finger to save today. A more hateful group of people didn’t figure in my life, fortunately.
Paging softballmominva.......could this be CM?
I agree with you wholeheartedly, Gamecock. Catholics on here are very, VERY sensitive to anyone exposing anything that isn’t skittles and unicorns.
I knew when I saw this article that most likely it wouldn’t be long before someone told the poster they were “Catholic bashing.” But the rules of this site allow criticism of any church, church figure, etc. “Caucus” and “devotioonal” threads are an exception but not all threads are caucus or devotional. Telling someone that they’re “Catholic bashing” doesn’t address the points they raise and essentially is a personal attack, and I for one would favor all such “bashing” accusations made solely because someone posted something critical but in accordance with the site’s rules, be treated as a personal attack by the religion moderators.
His Freeper ‘Born on Date’ is today. I doubt we’ll see much more of him.
I forgot to mention that it was stuff that happened fifty years ago and the guy sounds like a wuss.
As I said, telling someone they are “Catholic bashing” or calling them a “Catholic basher” when they are merely posting something critical of the Catholic Church (which this site permits) is merely a personal attack. It avoids the points actually being brought up and attacks the character of the other poster.
Welcome. Enjoy.
I trust you can do better than this.
