This is a very odd Pope.
I would expect a God should know what is in your heart, and be able to sort out the wheat from the chaff, whether there is repentance or not. -Tom
Read the last couple of paragraphs.
Do you question whether these were exact quotes? What do you mean by “Sure”?
The idiot spews forth again.
If they’re comatose, toss em on the street, in the name of humanity.
Ah, I got it. You put Pelosi in there.
The man has taken leave of his senses. I say such not because of the RCC but rather his personal judgment on issues is sorely lacking common sense.
Where did you get that quote? That's worth a thread.
***The pope said criminal penalties should not apply to children, and should be waived or limited for the elderly,***
Yes, let’s give Jerry Sandusky a short prison term, because he’s elderly, and wasn’t caught until he was an old fogey. (Sarc for those who can’t tell by the context here.)
I don’t know, but I know I’m glad that I wasn’t “frozen” at the worst point in my life. Perhaps it’s different for people who have never committed serious sins. Since I have, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to learn and repent, I’m inclined to want others to have the same opportunity. I’m not looking to the past, “What did she do?”, but to the future, “Does she need to be stopped from doing it again and again?”
And, “Can it be stopped?” Plenty of people persist in evil because it’s evil that is not illegal. Or because they’re not found out.
You’ve got it; baby, you’ve got it.
I mean that I’m not having a conversation with you, have a nice day.
I read an article years ago by a priest whose rectory was a block from a state prison. He was called in whenever there was an execution. He said that every man executed there, for decades, died repentant, while most of the prisoners who were NOT facing execution were NOT repentant.
IIRC, the problem of executing the innocent is non-existent.
That may be true. It’s easy to say so when it’s not your life on the line. On the other hand, people under life imprisonment sentences have been released in recent years due to advances in technology or simple reexamination of cases that were once considered “no doubt,” but outlived immediate emotions.
This was not the same circumstance as the woman caught in adultery whom the religious leaders wished to stone for Biblical violations that he interceded for.
That was some shark you just jumped, Francis.
This guy uses classic brainwashing tactics. First establish a deep level of trust. Then put out regular soundbytes favoring communism and global government.
Down the road, large numbers of people will agree with whatever garbage he said months or years earlier, without knowing why they agree with it.
Without trying to be obnoxious, this kind of error is partly why so many have abandoned Rome. Your clarity of thought now exceeds the pope’s; the clarity of Rom. 13 exceeds the pope’s. The direct abandonment of Paul’s Scriptural perspective in favor of “...his own opinions” is beyond “clericalism”.
