Please go to this parish, I promise you will only hear solid Catholic teaching -

Tucson, Arizona 85705

We are concerned about your immortal soul, please return to Holy Mass and worship God, He will bring peace to your heart and help you ignore the noise. This is a Latin Mass, I know the priest, he can be trusted.

Keep the faith lulu. A few poor shepherds won’t do damage. We’ve been through worse.

Keep coming to church. Find a different priest if you need to, but don’t keep putting yourself in mortal sin by avoiding Mass.

Wickedness invades the church in all ages.

Luther would not approve of the pro-homosexual stand of the church bearing his moniker.

I wouldn’t call less than 0.2% of those concerned “mass resignation”. 99.8% seem to be OK with it or don’t really care.

God Bless you. I am so happy that you are the happy recipient of the body and blood of Christ. I married my first love after 24 years of estrangement and he is Jewish. I can no longer receive the sacrament and so it is sad for me regardless.

As for the homilies, I am one of those notetakers during Mass. People are always suspicious that I may be a spy. I tell them I like to review what I have learned in church and try to incorporate Christ’s teachings and the interpretation of the clergy all week. I tried to get several priest to let me record their homilies, so that others in our diocese could get the benefit of their wisdom. Unfortunately, no takers.

Have a Blessed Christmas. It’s Advent and I just bought myself a vintage Advent calendar yesterday. It’s always great to celebrate Christ.

Thank-you so much for your prayers, BlatheNaut. I am really touched that you raise your thoughts to Him with me in mind. At this point, we need Him more in our lives than ever.

Yesterday, I had an occasion to speak to a person, who approached me because he thought I was beautiful. It gave me an opportunity to talk about God and our constitution. Thoughts become talk, talk, hopefully, become actions, and prayers become miracles, and only God can create a miracle.

God Bless you. And during lunch I will speak your name with my husband and as pray aloud for those we wish to bless. I hope you feel it.

Have a Blessed Christmas.

Hello pbear. I have attended latin mass in the morning several times at your incredible historic church, even the stations of the cross. I found it very beautiful and moving. I especially loved seeing the home-school kids with their families in the fews and kissing the feet of the Jesus on the crucifix. Have you fixed the sign outside that says there is evening Mass on Saturday?

A few years ago, I gave the Rev. a gift certificate to The Sausage Shop as an Easter gift. They later told me, he was very happy to redeem it there. I also promised to talk to three Germans or Austrians ( that I did not know) that had not been to church for a while. One woman said that she was very excited to meet the reverend, and she gave me a German chocolate candy to give to him.She said she would go when her mother visited from Germany.

Thank-you so much for the lovely invitation to attend St. Gianna. I am touched by it. I hope that everyone is over the trauma of the fire and this Christmas season finds you all close to each other and feeling the embrace of His love.

Please give my regards to the reverend. Tell him I am the lady that gave him my pictures of the 32 parishes in our dioceses I attended Mass during the Easter Lent.

God Bless you are your treasure of a church and all the parishioners who keep the Holy Spirit alive in Tucson.

You know you are right. I remember reading on FR someone who gave an RX for our dismay with the current pope, which included reading about what the early church had to endure and the lives of saints.

At this time, it is so hard for me to resume. I mean it is really, really hard.

But I am joyful for the season. Christ is born again. And I am hoping that when I can re-commit God will welcome me back like he did with the prodigal son.

Have a Blessed Christmas Ouchthatonehurt. Thank-you for keeping our worship alive with your presence. God must be very happy with you that you are doing the work of his apostles and gathering up his lost flock.

Thank you for your lovely reply Lulu. I do not live in AZ but know the new Canon at St Gianna. They rotated rectors after Chapter Meeting this summer and the new guy is one of the first Americans ordained for the ICKSP. He likes Tazo chai in case anyone asks. A Blessed Advent to you.

You know, you gave me a good idea, Please not CA. I was thinking about what you said as I began my Advent study and celebration moments ago, and I thought, if I just went to the weekdays Masses, which I like doing, then there would be no collection basket to withdraw from.

Not putting money in a collection basket can be quite painful for me. I used to go to a very small parish and helped with all the fundraisers to pay off our mortgage. The debt was finally paid by a family whose last member died. But then our bishop, told us to get another collection started, to build a new church! Mind you this is a beautiful, historic church, a jewel box, perfect, and the bishop said that we needed room for the next generation. And this one would be replaced.

This was balderdash. The congregation of this church was declining because the young people had to leave town because the mines had closed. It was 30 minutes from my home but I love the area and it was nice for my husband (Jewish) to walk the dogs while I attended service. There was plenty of room for the next mining town over to join us. I took up the whole first row by myself.

So after a few times that I passed on the second collection basket, I told the usher, I was not going to put any money in and not to expect anything from me and why. But it was still uncomfortable for me to return it empty.

But five churches within 30 minutes of me, none pass the basket during the weekday Masses. Hopefully, the priest will not get a chance to insert something in the homilies like “be nice to illegals” or “let us seek social justice for the immigrant” because it is a shorter service and they probably don’t get directives from the dioceses on those days.

I am still contemplating and praying on this matter. Thank-you for giving me a way to ease my conscious. It is good to think that you and perhaps others, are firm in our convictions. As I told someone who tried to challenge me yesterday, about on a country guided by God and Christian morality, who said to me he did not like churches dictating, I told him God made us in his image, expected much of us, gave us free will and made us free. The Church is there for its constancy. He should be happy we are a country graced by God.

I think the greater challenge, pleasenotcalifornia, is to bring the Church back to the original doctrine of Christianity and not to be used or under the sway of leftist politics.

God bless you in California, that beautiful golden land. God has certainly granted you so much. It is a pity it is being despoiled. There is room for you in Arizona. Democrats are feeling crowded out. Have a Blessed Christmas and thank-you for making me feel better. I wish you all the best in your counter-protest.

Myself, I would continue to go to Mass but not put any money in the basket. Your not alone on this find others in your parish like you and counter-protest somehow.

withholding donations is meaningless unless you let them know, on a weekly basis, that you are doing it. I'd either put my weekly envelope if the basket with a note inside, or if you didn't want to be identified, put a blank envelope in with your note inside.....I'd personally use my identifiable church envelope....

Those priests misunderstand what the Church teaches. The Church teaches compassion for those in need, but accepts countries being able to control their borders. Catholics of good will can disagree on the best methods for dealing with immigration. It is not a fundamental moral issue, like abortion or active homosexuality.

“It is not a fundamental moral issue, like abortion or active homosexuality.”

Very good point, Suzi. Those are fundamental moral issues that we must bring to light in order to change the tide.

But here at the border, where we have the Catholic church accepting money from the government to house illegals and shaming us for not contributing to their board and keep, the transgression of being part of an immoral transfer of wealth, the commandments not to steal or covet thy neighbors goods, is to me prime.

I really believe we are helping those from the south from not sinning, just as we prevent young women from not destroying their babies or stopping men from grooming boys for their toys.

I am reading the gospel of Mark right now, and in the beginning of Jesus’s ministry he is casting out demons and unclean spirits.

I am trying to grasp the connection between what is expected of us as Christians as to the recognition of evil and how this aids the health of our beloved country.

I am still do not have a clear sight. I do appreciate your good insight and the dialogue you have prompted with me, Suzi.

May God bless you during this Advent season and may you and yours have a Blessed Christmas.
