“In the mosque I prayed to the Lord for these wars to stop!”

In the interview Pope Francis gave on the return flight to Rome, he spoke about interreligious dialogue, asking political leaders, scholars and Muslim religious figures to speak out against fundamentalist terrorism. Regarding unity between the Catholic and Orthodox Churches, he said that “uniatism” is not the way forward. “I want to go to Iraq“ and “I would like to meet the Patriarch of Moscow”

A lot of folks on this forum feel the exact same about the Catholic Church.

You could not be more wrong headed on this. One world religion? Yes, the Pope desires that all would become Catholic. That clearly is never going to happen, so what to do? Ignore them? Try to figure out how to keep Christians safe.

It's just like the blacks, people! Only black people of good will can fix their problems and only Muslims of good will can get the evil doers out.

Well put. I had hoped the pope’s prayer went something like, “Lord, return these lands and these people to yourself . . . and soon. Amen.”

He bowed down and prayed to God. The one true God. In a temple that worships a false God, and false prophet. Who would gladly kill everyone worshiping said Popes religion.

Because their religion commands it.

He knows exactly what he does. All buddy buddy with muslims, birds of a feather, flock together.

There is a reason the grand book of toilet paper commands that muslims kill Jews. Directly from lucifers mouth to mohamopedos ear.

Yep, the pope doesn’t know that islam is a bad religion, he is just dumb right? He didn’t mean to pray to God in a temple devoted to the murder of all of his followers or anything. He prayed with the muslim pedophile in the mosque, while the muslim prayed to a murderous evil that is certainly not God.

So, you tell me how he isn’t evil.

Do you think the Catholic Church is full of idol worshipers?

Do you believe God is everywhere, or that he refuse to hear prayers in a mosque or a prison or a bathroom? If you fall in the shower do you not pray?

How would you react if I walk up to you and say your religion is false and I hate you? Does that start any kind of discussions that will end well?

Have you forgotten the Inquisitions? I am quite certain people of those times felt the same way about the Catholic Church as murderers.

Pope Francis living rent free in a lot of lofty heads.

I again ask, what would you have him do? Should Christians in Turkey be denied a visit by the Pope, because they are surrounded by Muslims?

Are you aware that besides being the head of the Catholic Church, he is also a head of state and an ambassador?

Would you deny people trapped in Muslim countries a chance to live? It might be a long shot, but if the Pope can soften one heart, is it not worth the effort? He's not going to convert Muslims by the sword. Jesus Christ himself was not received well in his day. I am convinced that there are people on this forum who would argue with Jesus Christ himself over the Bible were He to come back this very day.

Instead of criticizing the Pope, why not pray for him? Satan has a fondness for going after the Holy. And why not? Satan already has the unholy and self-righteous.

The Lord didn’t start the wars. It’s subhuman bearded savages. Get them to stop killing and the wars stop.

Actually this Pope is doing a fine job of divorcing traditional Biblical Christianity (that includes Catholics).

For the POPE to pray to the one true God of everything in a temple built to worship the exact opposite of His nature is sickening. I feel sick.

The temple is meaningless - the communion with God is the key. So many put so much stake in the importance of things instead of the power and Love of God that I find myself confused about how they can say they believe in the existence and relevance of God Himself.

The answer is simple. The Pope should not consort with Muslims and should not enter a mosque, much less pray in one.

Your comments stand up a series of straw man arguments, which you proceed to knock down. For example, no one but you suggested that anyone advocated that the Pope kill Muslims.

I think some of you need to leave the Pope alone. Let him do what he feels called to do and stop judging every movement, unless of course that is how you want to be judged.

As for kiling Muslims, is that not really what you want?

The strawman arguements are from those who blast the Pope everytime he does anything.

Reminds me of 16 'What comparison can I find for this generation? It is like children shouting to each other as they sit in the market place: 17 We played the pipes for you, and you wouldn't dance; we sang dirges, and you wouldn't be mourners. 18 'For John came, neither eating nor drinking, and they say, "He is possessed." 19 The Son of man came, eating and drinking, and they say, "Look, a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners." Yet wisdom is justified by her deeds.' "

“the Pope desires that all would become Catholic”

He’s told protestants time and time again there is no need for them to convert to Catholicism, that we are all children of Christ and no one faith is any better than another. Yes, this so-called “Catholic” pope. He shows an elementary understanding of his own faith. Do a lot of praying as long as he sits in the chair of St. Peter. No telling what he’ll say next.

OMG! Really? So I should really tell non-Catholics that they will go to Hell becaue they are not Catholics? No I got it. Maybe the Pope, should go on a Mel Gibson style rant?

Here is the position. Do you think that people who never owned slaves should have to pay reparations to people who were never slaves?

A person is born into a faith. They believe it with their entire hearts and they try their very best to be a good person based on what they have been taught. They love God with all their heart and mind, but they are not Catholic, does that bar them from Heaven?

Are you familiar with "to whom, much is given, much is expected"? If you have been given the fullness of the Catholic faith then more is expected of you.

I wonder how many people even understand the Bible they so carelessly use as a sword? Does Jesus Hate the Jews? Well does he? Do you believe a Jew can go to Heaven? Yes or No?

“So I should really tell non-Catholics that they will go to Hell becaue they are not Catholics”.

You should tell them the truth about Catholicism, as the One, True, Faith. You should tell them for the sake of their eternal soul they need to be part of the Catholic Church. Why be a Catholic if you can’t speak the truth?

“We are bound by divine and Catholic faith to believe all those things which are contained in the word of God, whether it be Scripture or Tradition, and are proposed by the Church to be believed as divinely revealed, not only through solemn judgment but also through the ordinary and universal teaching office (1). Now, among those things which the Church has always preached and will never cease to preach is contained also that infallible statement by which we are taught that there is no salvation outside the Church.”
[Letter of the Sacred Congregation of the Holy Office, August 8, 1949, to the Archbishop of Boston (CH 1256)].

>>Also who the He!! is anyone to tell the Pope, where he can and cannot pray, when our life is supposed to be a prayer?<<

2 John 1:10 If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed: 11 For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.
