David Phelps sings this with the Gaither group

There are several renditions of this classic by David but I think this one is best, just seems blessed.

I was listening to this album earlier this afternoon (some of it, at least). A perennial favourite in my collection.

My favorite version of the tune:

Minuit, Chrétiens (Christians, it's midnight; aka O Holy Night)--Georges Thill (1932)

One of my favorite quotes about Pavarotti is actually about how some Italians reacted to his death.

I have about it in several different places. Generally, it goes like this:

Pavarotti had just died. On hearing the news, an Italian man dejectedly said to his friends: “So now all we have left is pizza.”

That’s how important he was to the collective psyche of the modern Italians.
