LOL The Catholic Church executed any who would try to read anything other then their perversion of scripture. Nope, up until the time that perverted forms of the Bible began to appear, you could own all that you could find and all that you could afford.....and that was VERY FEW.

Yeah, there is and there is a major difference. You dealt with adults....big time losers and your main job was to keep them comfined and keep them from killing you or one another....a thankless job at best.We both had a job to do. I am sure yours seems thankless at times too. My last 11 years, was spent in the nut ward. We spent a lot of time trying to straighten out those nut cases. One day, they brought a guy in who was going ballistic. 8 hours later, after getting shot up with meds, he was fine, and told me that he hoped he didn't hurt anybody. I assured him he did not. I have seen everything in the nut ward.

And yes, Jesus has already atoned for all the sin in my life. The sin that I've committed and the sin I've yet to commit. It's ALL forgiven in one glorious transaction WOW, no responsibility on your part at all...you can ignore all the so called rules and "GET AWAY" with anything!! Look out world, here she comes. I can do no wrong because whatever I do is O.K. and the slate has already been wiped clean. No wonder you like being a protestant, when you can live life with no restraints whatsoever, it is so much more fun!!
I don't think that it really works that way or there'd be no need for commandments nor morals, nor differentiation between good and evil....everything is O.K......NOPE

Then why were people forbidden to have their own copies of the Bible and were burned at the stake if they had a copy? History is a favorite hobby of mine especially since genealogy is another interest. I was simply horrified when I read stories about what Catholics did to non Catholics. How could they do that? They were not Christians in any way. No wonder people got fed up with them and did not want anything else to do with them.

Then, the people woke up to the truth, thankfully. Many were killed by the Catholics for wanting to have their own copy of the Bible. Real Christian like. skipped history class didn't you???

In whose opinion???...They went along just fime with ALL Christians reading their words until along came the revolution....Really??? Do the Jews in Israel use them...

Nope. Loved history and started to major in it in college. I had excellent teachers in school. Still love it. I also love to read. When something seems odd, I know how to research further. It is amazing what history is available on the internet. A lot can be downloaded free.

**Don't worry about it bro. I get my share of digs in too. I am not, however, planning to swim the Tiber, because if I do, Gamecock is going to do GBI to me**

According to you. The Bible is our guide on how to accept Jesus and how to live a Chriatian life . Jesus is the answer not man.

Seems to me that one of the original ten commandments said something about keeping holy the sabbath One of them also says don't pray to crackers...
To: Gamecock
LOL, I love it GC. Great pic. There is not much danger you will ever have to use it, but keep it handy, just in case. 😄😇

Amazing...a brand new concept of redemption. I have no doubt for a minute that that is new for a Catholic.
But that hardly makes it a brand new concept of redemption.
It's just a concept that the Catholic church kept its members ignorant of for so many years, like so many other Biblical concepts.

Seems to me that one of the original ten commandments said something about keeping holy the sabbath And where does God tell us that keeping the Sabbath holy means attending mass every Sunday?
Chapter and verse, please.

And Catholics have the MASS, and they have the person, body, blood, soul and divinity of Jesus Christ at every DAILY Mass....we shouldn't ever consider it an obligation, we should rejoice at the opportunity and most do. And I have Jesus Christ living IN me 24/7. Where I go, He goes.
I don't need to go to a building to meet Him and eat Him.

Yeah, just try swimming the Tiber and we’ll have to come down there and deal with you ourselves.
Yeah, I know, I know. It’s a nasty job, but someone has to make the sacrifice.....
