Did anyone ever give you examples of the *many and varied* interpretations of Scripture that Protestants are supposed to have?

The following website includes a list of 50 different English versions of the Bible.

https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Matthew+3%3A13-17&version=NIV

I do not know if all are interpretations from the faiths that came out of the Reformation, or if some are versions from denominations that were formed after the Reformation, but I would say they are many and varied.

However, I have been told by some Protestants, including one of my teachers in high school, that only the KJV was inspired.

Ah... the old broad brush of SOME!

One might even find that Mary had, somehow, BECOME a Co-redemtrix!

Hold on right there. You have posited a non sequitur. No one will ever say that Mary had has or ever will have a divine nature. Her relationship with God was always, by His grace, the nature that we struggle to obtain in this earthly life.

Some reading regarding "esessences" and "energies" of God and how humans can and connot participate in them might be helpful, if you care to do the work.

oh please...a protestant is one who protests....nothing wrong with that, but that's what they are...they protest against true Catholic Christianity...

Let's all PRACTICE true Catholic Christianity!!!

Pope Stephen VI (896–897), who had his predecessor Pope Formosus exhumed, tried, de-fingered, briefly reburied, and thrown in the Tiber.[1]

Pope John XII (955–964), who gave land to a mistress, murdered several people, and was killed by a man who caught him in bed with his wife.

Pope Benedict IX (1032–1044, 1045, 1047–1048), who "sold" the Papacy

Pope Boniface VIII (1294–1303), who is lampooned in Dante's Divine Comedy

Pope Urban VI (1378–1389), who complained that he did not hear enough screaming when Cardinals who had conspired against him were tortured.[2]

Pope Alexander VI (1492–1503), a Borgia, who was guilty of nepotism and whose unattended corpse swelled until it could barely fit in a coffin.[3]

Pope Leo X (1513–1521), a spendthrift member of the Medici family who once spent 1/7 of his predecessors' reserves on a single ceremony[4]

Pope Clement VII (1523–1534), also a Medici, whose power-politicking with France, Spain, and Germany got Rome sacked.

With respect...some do not find it necessary to delve into catholic definitions and verbiage, which so often goes to nauseating lengths to drive their points, which actually distracts from the centrality of Jesus Christ..... But even more so with the catholic teaching that Mary is Gods Mother.

Common sense says God has no mother....He is not a created being...He is the creator. To infer that because the Biblical Mary ‘bore’ Jesus makes her Gods Mother is only done so as to keep the cult of Mariology in it's place and thriving among it's membership to Romes advantage.

Therefore.... we who are not catholics do understand the arguements and debates regarding her, they've been presented years now for those of us who have been here awhile......so with that we of course reject the idea, as catholics present their mary, as 'something else' then the Biblical account of Mary. Prefering instead to believe in the absolute Centrality of Jesus Christ as he presents Himself to be and this according to that which is written..

Do you even take a moment to reflect and think before you post? The time stamps provide the answer to that.

They have trouble proving that the Word of Jesus and teachings of the Catholic Church are false.

Well; when you link them like THIS!!

We've NO problem with the stuff you guys have come up with (so far) that is NOT found in the Bible.

Suppose that Son of the woman, as one of his last acts while dying on the cross for our sins, gave her to the members of His church to be their own mother, just as we were to be His brothers. Would you love the woman as your own mother?

I don't ALWAYS frame hypothetical questions;

but when I do; they are DOOZIES!!

Do you agree that Mary is the mother of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ?

Very briefly, since I must be about my business..you do well to use the lower case c - catholic because that means "universal." Which relates to what was believed by everyone in every place. Of course, Arius stood up and had to be slapped down.

Suggest to perhaps lay aside the frustration noted in engaging the argument. Gain some more understanding of the neutral facts of the history and the issues involved and the possible consequences of unchecked error and let your own mind grapple with that.

Her last words in the Bible are "Do whatever he tells you."

Her first were, "How will this be?"

Yeah, right...for one thousand six hundred years Christ ignored His church....let her fall into apostasy

Oh tery; it happened a LOT earlier than THAT!!!

Each one started by Catholics...

Each one teaching error...

Each one now reduced to ruins...

Any one else see a TREND here?

....”a protestant is one who protests....nothing wrong with that, but that's what they are...they protest against true Catholic Christianity”...

Well there are many others who would not be categorized as Protestant who also 'protest' against catholic-ism. Though the term did originate with the 'Protestant' Reformation of course, and for obvious reasons we understand, but I think that today it means moreso rejection of the Palpacy Authority, Priesthood, and the various rites and rituals practicied within catholicism and it's teachings of many other issues they've added on since the reformation.......until they've become "something else" today entirely then that which Jesus called them to be...and in fact very much seperated from.
