>>If you are a baptized Catholic -— then you will always be a baptized Catholic.<<

True believers are baptised into Christ not the Catholic Church.

I believe that all good people who believe in Christ alone are good Christians.

>>Oh, so you can read Hebrew and Greek? I mean, that would be “God’s word direct and unadulterated”.<<

That's pretty easy to do with all the online Hebrew and Greek lexicons.

I agree wholeheartedly. And they wonder why so many consider it a cult.

>>Those who believe that Christ as the Son of God believes He taught ONE truth.<<

And then Catholics corrupted what Jesus taught and added a bunch of untruths and call it Catholicism.

“And so do Roman Catholics, just as Christians everywhere (including those who would eventually become recognized as ‘Roman’ Catholic) have for centuries.”

Since only Protestants claim sola scriptura it only affects them. Protestants are left with a quandary. They claim to be led by the Holy Spirit (Who cannot lie or deceive) and claim sola scriptura is true. Clearly something is wrong with Protestantism is the result is what it is for certainly nothing is wrong with the Holy Spirit or scripture.

No. When someone uses an online lexicon all they are doing is relying on someone else’s translation work yet again. It takes great facility with a language to be able to actually understand their natural nuances.

That is funny coming from someone who puts their full faith and trust in "someone else's translation work".

I never have. My full faith and trust is in Christ and the reality of His actions.

"I’m a Catholic. No matter who is pope, I am a Catholic. It’s just that simple. vladimir998

"the Catholic Church says you do not have the full faith. And the Church is right, of course." - vladimir998

That's faith in the Catholic Church. Catholics follow and have faith in the Catholic Church. Christians follow and have faith in Christ alone. Cannot serve two masters.

Babies born to Catholics are typically baptized as babies

No they are not. Catholicism calls it baptism but scripture has a different definition of baptism. Christians often dedicate their children to God in a ceremony at their respective churches.

Children take catechism classes that teach what the Church and the collect [?] believe. [don't know or care what "the collect" means] I’ve taught some of these classes myself.

So you are a teacher in the Catholic church and with your every post you declare (in your tagline) that another poster should have sex with...anyone?

Plus I do think it breaks the rules of the Religion Forum. No I won't turn you in, I don't mind leaving that kind of hypocrisy on the forum.

At least you don't hide it, some Catholics only make unGodly statements and swearing on their profile pages.

Self destructive analysis. Petrine authority comes from Christ, it teaches ONE truth and is incorruptible. The corruption began with the curse of the Reformation and that’s why eminent Protestant theologians are now beginning to realize and go back to that ONE truth. (Except for some who cannot swim out of the shallow waters)

No need to mine anything. The basic dogma is the CREDO and the Catechism of the Church. The alternative is to mine through 35,000 sects of Christianity.

Concerning your comment of a mark being put on a soul when "baptized" soon after birth by Catholicism:

It is on your soul, put there by the Father Son and Holy Spirit.

Blaspheme to state something utterly false and blaming it on God. All three parts of God no less!

God does not "mark" anyone just because a denomination thinks it happens.

They are spiritual marks that are there forever.

Spiritual, yes. [Worshipping the devil is spiritual. Misused there also] How cruel to mark little babies permanently for "spiritual" reasons.

God can remove them in fact they are never there. Remember, "With God all things are possible."

I'm sure he uses something like spiritual Teflon to protect precious children from this horrible mark the you wish to brand...yes BRAND...them with. For shame!

Thanks for your post Talisker, bringing out the truth.

>>Petrine authority comes from Christ<<

Um, no it doesn't. Petrine - First Known Use: 1841. AKA Totally made up construct of the Catholic Church. Christ never gave supreme authority to Peter or any of the other apostles.

Funny you should mention that. I have never personally heard anyone who belongs to a Bible preaching church take God's name in vain. However, I am constantly hearing Catholics, such as co-workers cuss profusely using God's name in vain. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.

Still waiting for you to name those 35,000 sects.
