That is why Catholics venerate Mary. Mary is not a goddess, but she’s unique. There is no “Father, if You are willing, remove this cup from Me; yet not My will, but Yours be done,” without, “Be it done to me according to Thy Word.” I am not elevating Mary above Jesus; I am merely stating the facts. Protestants, especially Protestants with Calvinist leanings, have a very difficult time understanding free will. Mary consented; Eve defied.
