There was a personal element in the post and instead of warning you again it was decided to remove the post.
It was restored.
Posting in the Religion Forum is tricky for those that aren’t used to being here.
yawn.
Hang on a minute, “NO personal attacks”... “I think you’re out of your mind” is a personal attack, at least I’d certainly intend it that way.
Why does the RF have the most arcane subset of rules?
We'll have to agree to disagree on this one then; however, there is one argument that is difficult to deny: Christ taught the disciples to pray to "Our Father...." Not Abraham, not Moses, not Solomon or David. God the Father. And we pray to Him in the name of Christ --
And yet now, he IS our mediator. One mediator. THE mediator. And the CCC teaches that Mary is mediatrix. That implies that she in some way shares in the ability to provide salvation and grace -- which she cannot and does not -- and, logically, for Catholics to obtain this (false) grace and mediation, what must they do?
Pray to her.
So, in my mind, the "one mediator" argument succinctly puts the whole Mariolatry heresy in the proper perspective of the false gospel it is.

Agreed. This is not about “need”.
These kind of attack postings should be removed or blocked...
One religion going after another belongs somewhere else, not in Freerepublic.com
What did the Holy Spirit inspire the writers of scripture to call her? Mother of Jesus or mother of God?
The Holy Spirit inspired John to tell us that the Word that was God and the same Word that was made flesh was Jesus, the only begotten Son of the Father. The Holy Spirit inspired Luke to tell us that this same Jesus that was to be called the Son of God was born of Mary. Would this not make Mary, as the mother of Jesus, also the mother of the Word made flesh, the only begotten Son of the Father, the Son of God, God Incarnate?
“So she is the mother of Jesus not the mother of God. Finishing with invectives is not a strong scriptural basis.”
In Catholic eyes, your statement is a logical contradiction.
(Ya know, logically this can be said about every person in Christ alive in heaven...Mary therefore has no special "inroad" to the Divine One...With this statement, you therefore imply that's it's laudable for people to pinpoint thousands -- even hundreds of thousands -- of people -- and begin praying to them as well as they also do "nothing on" their "own, but only in accord with the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit")
Not to mention my 2 1/2 years toward a Masters of Divinity. Not a moment of it wasted.
I didn’t ask for your logic. What did the Holy Spirit inspire the writers of scripture to call her? Mother of Jesus or mother of God?
Open calls for censorship is itself an attack upon religious freedom.
Sorry, Detch, it is, after a FREE Republic!
I believe the word you are looking for to describe such persons is “saints”. Even among them, some are more laudable than others in how closely they follow Christ. I would say Mary, knowing him more intimately than any other, would rank near the top.
As a general observation I find that some posters on the RF possibly think more highly of themselves than they ought. If any of them read this comment I'm sure they will feel it is a personal attack because the shoe fits too closely.
Somewhere up thread one such person seems to believe that they are the incarnation of the Holy Spirit who can determine the salvation of the person that they responded to. I find that presumptuous at best .
Several very vocal posters seem to think it is OK to set aside the role of civil discourse in interpersonal communications as long as they are 'contending for the faith'. I'm not so sure that such an approach was what enabled the early church to expand to the entire known world in one century. Beating someone over the head with a five pound sledge (or a 97 pound Scofield Reference Edition of the KJV) is not typically the way to encourage someone to entertain your position on any matter.
Some constant posters on this forum of FR are expert at baiting non-approved responses from others and once they get such, hit abuse on that poster to get them silenced. Since this handful of posters has well learned how to manipulate the rules on this forum they manage to remain untouched no matter the right/wrongness of their opinions and the stridency with which they espouse them.
Wading into almost any thread on this portion of FR is akin to teaching a pig to sing. It wastes your time and annoys the pig. Very similar to trying to engage in a civil discourse with a lieberal.
The guilty parties abide in both camps of Christianity for you will find both Protestant and Catholic bashing threads on this forum. It seems to me that all parties could benefit from reading and applying the process outlined in the following link.
I will now fade back into the background.
Logic isn't the concern. What did the Holy Spirit inspire the writers to call Mary? Mother of God or mother of Jesus?
So doing a shotgun bashing by you of all/most/many posters of this thread, lambasting them as “bashers”, is sanctioned bashing? (But all other forms of critique are beyond your personal boundaries and are to be frowned upon?)
All I try to offer is the truth of God's word, his Gospel, and the facts of scripture.
If that's crackpot, then fine by me:
Romans 1:16
"For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek."

Someone go nail this to the freeping door.
