Temple Mount Faithful sacrifices lamb in pre-Passover ritual [Isaiah 66:6]
YNet News ^ | 4/1/15 | Dr. Ruchama Weiss, Rabbi Levi Brackman

It looked like a scene from year 200 BCE, or the end of days – yet it all played out just two days ago, on Monday, not far from the Temple Mount. Kohanim in authentic attire blessed the excited crowd, Levites sang hymns, and a young lamb was offered up as a Passover sacrifice in keeping with all the dictates of the ancient ritual.

This "dress rehearsal," staged every year by members of the Temple Mount Faithful movement, is designed to present the public with an accurate rendition of the ritual that was in practice during the time of the Temple, which they hope to erect anew.

Back then, Seder night was not merely a sumptuous meal with uncles and aunts and four cups of wine, but a production that started almost a week earlier with the selection and slaughter of one of the family's lambs, and culminated in a festive meal in memory of the night when our ancestors were rescued from slavery in Egypt.

And Monday saw the Temple Mount Faithful at it again, with the ritual enacted to the letter – from the slaughtering of the lamb, its skinning, the spilling of its blood on the specially constructed altar, the burning of some of its organs on the altar, the roasting of the meat, and through to the serving of the best bits to the Kohanim, on the backdrop of trumpeting and songs of praise.

Despite the Temple Mount Faithful's fringe-group status, attending the ritual this year were several rabbis from the mainstream of religious Zionism, including Jerusalem Chief Rabbi Arye Stern, Rabbi Shmuel Eliyahu and Rabbi Yaaqov Medan from the Har Etzion Yeshiva, along with Jerusalem councilman Aryeh King, who arranged funding for the event from the municipality...

...faithless Jews....

You should really look at a siddur sometime, and maybe even try to take in a synagogue service.

I am very impressed with your knowledge of the old and new testaments, however I disagree with your assertion that animal sacrifice continued with Christians. They understood the significance of Jesus fulfillment of the sacrifice typology.

Not mine. We pray that the faithless Christians who are rejecting the God of the Bible and America's Judeo/Christian heritage will wake up before destruction. We pray that Christians Americans will wake up to the lies of Islam and the LGBT lobby that is leading America right now and repent, turning back to God.

We also pray for the Peace of Jerusalem and that God's people (the Jews) would remember their Messiah (Zechariah 12, Daniel 9, Isaiah 53) and say, "Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord"!

Good point! Them temple you are referring to is the 4th temple. The scripture from Isaiah 66 is the 3rd temple that is built prior to the return of Jesus. The 4th temple will be when the Messiah of Israel (Jesus - Meschioch ben David) is ruling and reigning from Jerusalem for 1000 years during the millenium.

It is the 3rd temple that is an abomination, that becomes desolate when the Anti-Christ proclaims himself as god (2 Thes 2, Matt 24) and places his image in the temple.

You are asking about God’s election, a very large subject. Jesus made the statement, we didn’t choose him but he chooses us. Though we keep our free will, we surrender to Jesus when he chooses us, his choosing us is more powerful than our independent minded free will, is election in simple terms. Our salvation is predetermined by God.

If would like to discuss it more there is lots of scripture support and it is a conversation/debate that has been going on for very long long time. I have to go out shortly and we probably should not hijack this thread but it is a very good topic to discuss if you want to.

You shouldn't assume your questioner is a child.

If you are right, the bottom line is that God and Jesus created literally millions of people who were doomed to permanent torture in infinite hell simply because they were created, with no chance whatsoever to avoid this fate, because God and Jesus did not choose them to be saved.

Therefore you are wrong, because your interpretation of Jesus'words is an expression of a God and Jesus of insane, monstrous hatred and madness, rather than divine love.

"Election" is not a "very large subject." It is not even a real subject at all. It is a delusion of madness, a following of false logic that gives a preposterous answer and therefore should be rejected on it's face. You might as well somehow derive Jesus' support for axe murderers and claim it to be a mysterious truth - it would be less of a conclusion than one having God creating people solely to damn them to eternal hell with no possibility of escape.

It's not rocket science. You simply can't have a God of love who also creates beings in order to torture them forever. The two don't go together, and there is no divine mystery to contemplate over it - it's just a wrong interpretation.

Your theology may demand it your abrogation of the offerings, but you should read Hebrews 9:13 and pay attention to the Greek verb tenses. The writer says that the blood of bulls and goats does (present tense) purify the flesh. You see, like most Christians, you assume that you know the purpose for all the offerings.

If you would study Leviticus 1-5, you would discover that of the 5 major offerings only 1 has a relationship to a person’s sin. The assumption is that all offerings are for sin. Most are not. The Hebrew kapur (cover/atone) does not relate to annulment of sin (take away), it relates to temporal covering. Those offerings (as Heb 9:13 indicates) protect the worshipper while in the immediate presence of the Holy One, blessed is He, when in the Temple worshipping.

How true. The level of ignorance about Judaism in most Christian circles is astounding. Falling back to stereotypical “faithless” christ-killers, they ignore the profoundly deep Scriptural knowledge of the Jewish people.
