Vatican makes history: Pope allows Islamic prayers, Koran readings [June 9, 2014]

For the first time in Vatican history, the pope allowed for the reading of Islamic prayers and Koran readings from the Catholic facility.

The readings and prayer came as Pope Francis met with Israeli President Shimon Peres and Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas in Vatican City, a gathering designed to pray for Middle Eastern peace.

A Holy See spokesman said the prayers were supposed to be a “pause in politics,” Breitbart reported. The pope said, too, that he hoped the interfaith prayers would foster peace specifically between Israelis and Palestinians, the news outlet said.

But you could ascribe that recognition error to Jews, as well. (Which is what I’m afraid the Pope is doing)

I don’t know of any Biblical text that would assert WHO the Allah of Islam IS.

But I have my own reasons for making a correlation w Satan.

Couldn't see that one coming, could we?

http://www.vatican.va/archive/ENG0015/__P29.HTM

841 The Church's relationship with the Muslims. "The plan of salvation also includes those who acknowledge the Creator, in the first place amongst whom are the Muslims; these profess to hold the faith of Abraham, and together with us they adore the one, merciful God, mankind's judge on the last day."330

And we should join the OTC for what reason again?

Cross the Tiber? God spare me from that level of deception.....

It really doesnt matter who Allah is.

If you are going to pray to and worship the one true God, I know who Allah is not.

Is this Pope even Christian?

Great question. I can't recall any instance where Christ left instructions to make deals with the devil. Loving your enemies is one thing but placing your neck under their sword is something else.

Oh, so it’s OK then?

You’re fine with the pope allowing this?

It doesn’t matter if it happened yesterday or last year. It happened under the current pope.

But go ahead, and keep your head in the sand and denying the facts.

The fact is, the RCC is in DEEP trouble, and most of the RC’s on FR are just in denial about it, trying to deflect the discussion.

The FR anti-Catholic squad must be bored today to be regurgitating an article FROM A YEAR AGO.

And a year later, you're still Catholic?

I must admit I was astonished at the idolatry of the Catholic churches in Europe. My first trip was some four weeks long (family by marriage in Bayern (aka Bavaria)). My subsequent five trips averaged 10 days. Yeah, the Catholic churches are breath taking as is the level of idolatry therein. Shocking!!!

......No, just bidding our time, look for this Pope to step down once he turns 8-0. He even said his time as Pope will not be long.

Many Muslims claiming Christianity in order to ‘infiltrate’ non-muslims countries....part of the Islamification of nations.

No, I'm am not worried about the Church being "in trouble." That is God's concern, not mine-- if his ministers are inept or unfaithful, he is their judge, not me.

The Catholic Church is not a human institution. Established by Christ himself, it has lasted more than 2000 years. It has outlasted all those who have tried to destroy it or who have predicted it's demise. And it has weathered much worse Popes than Francis, that's for sure. :)
