What is particularly curious is that the transcript of the General Audience on the Vatican website doesn't have those words. What is more curious is that the partial translation posted by Vatican Radio doesn't have it either...Even more interesting, the Zenit translation doesn't have it....

....What is most interesting is that Asia News (which is owned by the Church -- propaganda fide) does discuss it...The Rome Reports video shows him saying it...

Curiouser and curiouser!

You do realize it was our Lord Jesus who founded the church,

I'm sadly aware of that particular rhetoric and it really really really weak basis.

France and Austria have stepped up border controls on migrants coming from Italy, turning back hundreds and leaving growing numbers camped out in train stations in Rome and Milan…….

……The pope said “these brothers and sisters of ours are seeking refuge far from their lands, they are seeking a home where they can live without fear.”

He asked for prayers that their “human dignity always be respected” and urged the international community to “work together and efficiently to prevent the causes of forced migration”.

I see no problem with reasonable law and order border controls as long as nations do not turn their backs on the suffering of the refugees, but rather give them bona fide assistance according to their abilities. These quotes, seem very much in the spirit of:

And if a stranger sojourn with thee in your land, ye shall not vex him. But the stranger that dwelleth with you shall be unto you as one born among you, and thou shalt love him as thyself; for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt: I am the LORD your God.

Let brotherly love continue. Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares. Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them; and them which suffer adversity, as being yourselves also in the body.
Leviticus, Catholic chapter nineteen, Protestant verses thirty three to thirty four,
Hebrews, Catholic chapter thirteen, Protestant verses one to three,
as authorized, but not authored, by King James

Is there a chance that the Pope will allow the illegals to immigrate to Vatican City?

I agree, and I just assume most of the refugees are not Isis but are trying to get away from those murdering butchers.

But I can not listen to video and only believe half of what I see and nothing that I hear any way, so I am what the knowledgeable would call clueless.

Title doesn't exactly match what he said.

“I invite you all to ask forgiveness for the persons and the institutions who close the door to these people who are seeking a family, who are seeking to be protected,”

I don't see anything there implying that those who oppose *illegal* immigration are somehow in the wrong.

From the OP (emphasis mine):

“I invite you all to ask forgiveness for the persons and the institutions who close the door to these people who are seeking a family, who are seeking to be protected,” he said in unscripted remarks ...

The Vatican Web sites probably receive the transcripts ahead of time and will, obviously, not include unscripted remarks.

By implication, he just declared blocking illegal immigration a sin.

Let’s not forget the removal, return and removal of the scandalous Scalfari interview from the Vatican website. I wouldn’t consider the Vatican website a trusted source.

"Those who seek to curb illegal immigration" = "anti-Catholic."

Here is the real point.. Roman Catholicism is drying up in this country ...so the RC in the South West is facilitating the illegals as they wander in ...they hope to fill their pews with the Mexicans...

Funny but Hispanics are being converted in great numbers.. most becoming Charismatics.. .not filling the expected pews

But he is old and soon will be gone and we will get a new Pope.

The current trend is a rapid decline. You think the next pope will be better than this one? Remember, the clowns who elected him are still wearing red.

Choose whom you will serve. Jesus Christ or this false vicar of Christ.

The Pope is reaching the stage where he needs to be removed from office, and there is no mechanism for doing so.

In the Godfather Part 3, they had a palace coup in the Vatican and the Pope met his maker after he drank his regular evening cup of tea.

I guess I feel called to respect all people as children of God.

"Respect" and "permissiveness" are two different things, however.
