“He who is without sin...”
It’s not about sin. It’s about the anti-Catholic habit of assuming they know what they’re talking about when they clearly don’t.
My posts have something for everyone, including those who are always looking for mistakes.
Makes them happy.
Should all pictures, statues, tee shirts, etc. depicting Jesus be forbidden ?
Well, if people are looking for error then, yes, your posts make them happy.
If you know someone who actually knows what Yeshua looks like, let me know... So the 'image' being promoted is not a true image. IOW, yes.
Oh goody, looks like we are on track to rehash the heresy of iconoclasm on this thread. Oh well, figures, might as well touch on ‘em all at least once I guess.
***the anti-Catholic habit***
Is that me? WOW! several years ago I was listed as a pro-Catholic Mexican illegal!
So, let’s see...I’ve been labeled as...
Anti-Mormon (OK)
Anti-Charismatic (OK)
Anti-Campbellite (OK)
Anti-American Mexican illegal Catholic
Anti-Seventh Day Adventist (meh)
Anti-JW. (OK)
Anti-Catholic. Just how many Anti-Catholic screeds have I ever posted?
I do oppose the worship and veneration of idols like Buddhas, jackal headed Anubis. Monkey gods, Hindu gods, including Christian saints.
They are nothing but cast brass, carved stone, carved wood. Yet all those above are treated as if they have ears to hear the plea of the faithful.
Break them open and see what god pops out. If Baal is a true god, let Baal plead for Baal because one has destroyed his altAr!
As works of art they are an enjoyment to look at, and as embellishment of ancient churches. but not something to venerate or burn incense to as the ancients did the Brazen Serpent.
You also oppose knowing the Bible apparently.
I hold my own against the groups above.
Hokay, that would conform to the Islamic view of not portraying the human likeness; just so long as you are consistent.
Not at all - the 'likeness' is unknown. The image portrayed is not Yeshua. Neither is it, by and large, even an image of an Hebrew. Just who is it y'all are bowing down before? I sure don't know, and I'd bet you don't know either. Perhaps that's why YHWH commanded not to bow down to images.
Not at all ? That is the same as the Islamic view, which is why the zealous among them destroy such wherever they find them.
Then your jaundiced comparison must necessarily pass also to Abraham, Joshua in the conquering of the Promised Land, and the good kings of Israel, in purging apostasy from the land over and again... Not to mention the very Word of YHWH, which plainly commands that no such images are to be tolerated, praising those that broke them down - All these too must be 'the same as Islam'.
Are you breaking down all the images in your city ?
You have misread Torah. I have nothing to bow to in my house, and as patriarch, in my greater house. There is where my responsibility lies. If my nation, or my state, or my city suddenly became zealous, yes, I would participate.
