How DARE you use FACTS to illustrate the Truth!
That is NOT the church that Christ came to establish.
There’s not a thing in Scripture that even suggests that kind of treatment of anyone over anything.
It should give rest once for all of the claim that Catholicism is the *one, true, church*.
It’s not an isolated incident or two but a long protracted history of greed, corruption, and demonically inspired policies and behavior.
You have already publicly denied that the Jewish people, whom Luther hated, are the brethren of the Messiah. This is a clear violation of the Second Greatest Commandment. This demonstrates the shallowness of so-called Evangelical support for Israel.
The re-formed gospel is founded on Luther. It is his gospel, Sola Fide, where works do not matter, but Faith Alone (of course, this is completely contrary to what the Messiah taught, but it explains the hatred for the one holy catholic apostolic church). If Luther is not saved, because of his unrepentant wickedness, it invalidates the theology of those who follow, and venerate him, to this day. Therefore Luther must be rehabiliated and sustained at all costs, for he is the de facto foundation of their salvation. If he is lost, then they also could be lost, despite their protestations to the contrary. And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying, Speak unto all the congregation of the children of Israel, and say unto them, Ye shall be holy: for I the Lord your God am holy. And the Lord put a word in Balaam's mouth, and said, Return unto Balak, and thus thou shalt speak. And he returned unto him, and, lo, he stood by his burnt sacrifice, he, and all the princes of Moab. And he took up his parable, and said, Balak the king of Moab hath brought me from Aram, out of the mountains of the east, saying, Come, curse me Jacob, and come, defy Israel. How shall I curse, whom God hath not cursed? or how shall I defy, whom the Lord hath not defied? For from the top of the rocks I see him, and from the hills I behold him: lo, the people shall dwell alone, and shall not be reckoned among the nations. Moreover the word of the LORD came to me, saying, Go and cry in the ears of Jerusalem, saying, Thus saith the LORD; I remember thee, the kindness of thy youth, the love of thine espousals, when thou wentest after me in the wilderness, in a land that was not sown. Israel was holiness unto the LORD, and the firstfruits of his increase: all that devour him shall offend; evil shall come upon them, saith the LORD. When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory: And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats: And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left. Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink? When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee? Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me. Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels: For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not. Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee? Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me. And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal. And, behold, a certain lawyer stood up, and tempted him, saying, Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life? He said unto him, What is written in the law? how readest thou? And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself. And he said unto him, Thou hast answered right: this do, and thou shalt live. But he, willing to justify himself, said unto Jesus, And who is my neighbour? I say the truth in Christ, I lie not, my conscience also bearing me witness in the Holy Ghost, That I have great heaviness and continual sorrow in my heart. For I could wish that myself were accursed from Christ for my brethren, my kinsmen according to the flesh: Who are Israelites; to whom pertaineth the adoption, and the glory, and the covenants, and the giving of the law, and the service of God, and the promises; Whose are the fathers, and of whom as concerning the flesh Christ came, who is over all, God blessed for ever. Amen. As concerning the gospel, they are enemies for your sakes: but as touching the election, they are beloved for the fathers' sakes. For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.
...
Thou shalt not go up and down as a talebearer among thy people: neither shalt thou stand against the blood of thy neighbour; I am the Lord. Thou shalt not hate thy brother in thine heart: thou shalt in any wise rebuke thy neighbour, and not suffer sin upon him. Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself: I am the Lord.

Isn't that nice, about 450 years late, did he refund the stuff taken? Are you Jewish that you could accept an apology?
You have already publicly denied that the Jewish people, whom Luther hated, are the brethren of the Messiah.
God decides who His brethren are, despite your wailings. Note the speaker in the following: Matt 12: 47 Then one said unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren stand without, desiring to speak with thee. 48 But he answered and said unto him that told him, "Who is my mother? and who are my brethren?" 49 And he stretched forth his hand toward his disciples, and said, "Behold my mother and my brethren!" 50 "For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother". Additionally John 6:36-71, Mark 3:35. Since a 'Jew' is an ethnic and religious descriptive, to the extent they conform to the preceding, they are the Lord's brethren despite your protests against scripture. Question, were the Jews Jesus was addressing in John 6 His brethren?
The re-formed gospel is founded on Luther. It is his gospel,
No, it is the scriptural position unless the Gospel is divided or Paul misunderstood or blatantly went another way. Is that your contention?
If Luther is not saved, because of his unrepentant wickedness,
So a man who taught daily repentance didn't repent? Mind-reading taken to the extreme. Luther's salvation has no effect on anyone else but Luther, salvation is a team game only in the sense that God provides it to a believing soul, not in the corporate sense of Catholicism as is so amply demonstrated by the Popes.
Luther must be rehabiliated
Already accomplished by His Lord.
So to sum up, a 450 year old apology trumps repentance, a non-Nazi scholar shows the link between AS and the Catholic church and its role in the drafting of the Nuremburg laws, all the actions of the Nazis were done first by Catholics over a period of centuries, but the man Luther is to blame. LoL to the max.
BTW, while apologies are nice and correct, they don’t do much for the dead. For the living it remains to be seen, the Vatican waited another 30 odd years to recognize Israel and align themselves with the other side still today. But it did give an opportunity for the Pope to assuage any collective guilt, but Vatican actions since belie the apology. Fruit and all that.
I am aware of that, but if Luther drove this whole thing as the poster suggests, then those views should have survived in the BoC, they didn't. As for the rest of the Reformers, can any point to the viewpoint surviving in their work? I think not. Just more LDS (not the Mormons).
