Donald Trump recently showed up at a gathering of Iowa conservative Christian voters with a copy of the Bible in hand.
"See, I'm better than you thought," he said. Then came a black-and-white photograph from his confirmation to further prove his Christian cred.
"Nobody believes this," he said to laughs. "What went wrong?"
As the Republican presidential front-runner and billionaire businessman tries to maintain his lead in early polls with rivals gaining, Trump is increasingly courting a wing of the Republican Party that might seem antithetical to his brand: evangelical Christians....

I wish we were electing a pastor of a church where the pastor and the church are truly anointed by the Holy Spirit of God.

I keep praying God will have mercy on us and that He will choose a Christian filled with the Holy Spirit for our next POTUS. I pray our next POTUS eyes and ears are opened to hear Him and respect Him. I pray that the next Christian POTUS will have a great influence, inspired by God, on Americans and countries around the world,(especially Israel).
I pray that Trump, whether he becomes POTUS or not, will become a mighty Christian Warrior.

I was too young to remember at the time, but didn’t Jimmy Carter run on the Bible & proclaimed his Southern Baptist faith? Look how that turned out.
I would rather Trump, or any candidate, be honest about his religious beliefs than to pretend to be something he’s not.
I too want a POTUS to speak with honesty like most here.

Maybe he’s Eastern Orthodox - after all they “permit divorced individuals to marry a second and even a third time.”
