+MEMORY ETERNAL+
Cairo- Egypt: Today, Mother Athanasia received the Crown of Martyrdom. She was gunned down by extremists of Muslims and gave her pure soul in Hands of our Lord Jesus Christ. She was a nun in the Monastery of Great St. George in Old Cairo.
Our Lord Said to us in the Gospel And dont fear those kill the body but can not kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell (Matthew 10 :28).
She was a pure nun.
May her prayers be with us. Amen
Great and Holy New Martyr Athanasia pray for us!
Dear Lord make this hatred and cruelty stop. RIP, Dear Mother.
Disgusting subhuman worms took a beautiful person from us.
`
It wasn’t because she dressed provocatively, or that she was running a gay disco. This is real sad. I WONDEr when the 1 billion Muslims begin to scratch their heads and ask themselves the questions about the tactics that Mohammed taught as Jihad. Until then, they need to own up to their own doctrinal beliefs by their religious leaders.
None of us in this country know of the bravery and humanity this woman had. RIP and God bless her.
Tone I
Where is the pleasure in life which is unmixed with sorrow? Where the glory which on earth has stood firm and unchanged? All things are weaker than shadow, all more illusive than dreams; comes one fell stroke, and Death in turn, prevails over all these vanities. Wherefore in the Light, O Christ, of Your countenance, the sweetness of Your beauty, to her whom You have chosen grant repose, for You are the Friend of Mankind.
Tone 2
Like a blossom that wastes away, and like a dream that passes and is gone, so is every mortal into dust resolved; but again, when the trumpet sounds its call, as though at a quaking of the earth, all the dead shall arise and go forth to meet You, O Christ our God: on that day, O Lord, for her whom You have withdrawn from among us appoint a place in the tents of Your Saints; yea, for the spirit of Your servant, O Christ.
Tone 7
Bring to her rest, O our Savior, You giver of life, our sister whom You have withdrawn from this transient world, for she lifts up her voice to cry: “Glory to You.
Glory to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit.
The death which You have endured, O Lord, is become the harbinger of deathlessness; if You had not been laid in Your tomb, then would not the gates of Paradise have been opened;wherefore to her, now gone from us give rest, for You are the Friend of Mankind.
Both now and ever and to the ages of ages. Amen.
Virgin chaste and holy, Gateway of the Word, Mother of our God, make supplication that her soul find mercy.
Read your Bible,....It gets worse from here.
May God rest her soul.
“Well done, good and faithful servant: because thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will place thee over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.” Matthew 25:23
“It wasnt because she dressed provocatively, or that she was running a gay disco.”
It was just because she had given herself to Christ. That was enough for them to murder her.
“Read your Bible,....It gets worse from here.”
But then it gets supernaturally better.
Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. Amen.
She received the Crown of Martyrdom on 5 -7 -2016.
We ask God our Lord to give heavenly consolations to the nuns of the Monastery of Great St. George and her family.
Her prayers be with us. Amen
The Radicalism that Dare Not Speak its Name.
I wonder how many pigdog murder-muzzies will be sent to Hell before this passes.
No human soul is pure. She was a sinner, as we all are, saved by Grace. Prayers that God will comfort her family and her order, those who loved her most next to Him.
I didn't know that there were even any "convents" still working and allowed to exist in Egypt. I learn something new every day.
