Is Christ only an abstract philosophy, a hypothesized pretend entity, to this chap and he really is ignorant of the real one? There is no way he could have gotten where he is all by his lonesome, at any rate. A post turtle he is. Who picked the turtle and put him up on that post? Looks like greater ailments are going on than just Francis.

The point would seem that Rome serves as shepherds in the custody of the ultimate Shepherd.

But what happens if this model fails beyond defense? What if the shepherds of Rome are all changed out for wolves?

The people who had been Roman Catholics are going to be forced to choose.

Ok ok here’s my attempt:

Pope is very wrong
To lie, shift, deflect, and claim
That Islam is peace

“Rome serves as shepherds in the custody of the ultimate Shepherd.”

The Catholic hierarchy are expected to be servants of the faithful. They are to do God’s will and defend and spiritually nourish those who follow the faith.

They are not intermediaries. They do not stand between the faithful and God.

Pope Francis, in my opinion, has failed. But his failure does not in any way diminish my faith.

Those faithful to Christ certainly ought not to view Rome as masters. But they should be careful not to fool themselves about how they actually ARE viewing Rome.

If servants, it looks like there has been a strong wave of serving themselves, taking hold here. This can’t be credible servanthood. Nobody can serve two masters.

Martin Luther had, in essence, a similar complaint. Rome had walked away from Christ, which is where he was determined to stay. This time, it looks like it isn’t just a dispute over doctrines, but fundamental attitudes themselves. Good grief, the idea that not all belief systems want peace is as old as the Old Testament.

“Those faithful to Christ certainly ought not to view Rome as masters”

You don’t seem to understand. The hierarchy are not meant to be masters they are meant to be servants.

Since Jesus Christ installed Peter as the first Pope, the Pope and others were meant to serve the faithful.

What “infallibility” means is that even if a Pope should be a jackass or a scoundrel or a madman, God will prevent him from officially corrupting core teachings of the Catholic Church.

Thanks for the explanation. I'm fine with that.

That’s exactly why they shouldn’t be viewed as masters. They are human; they can fail; they can get in the way of God instead of helping people along the way of God.

Yep, it’s all about money, Holy Father. Every time I hear about some jihadist slitting someone’s throat or bombing crowds of people, that’s the first thought that comes to my mind: muslims, they’re all just in it for the cash!

Unless the “pope” is an anti/false pope. Then he is not protected by the Holy Spirit.

I wish the pope would read this Winston Churchill quote and more of his words on izzlam.

Churchill Islam

How dreadful are the curses which Mohammedanism lays on its votaries! Besides the fanatical frenzy, which is as dangerous in a man as hydrophobia in a dog, there is this fearful fatalistic apathy. The effects are apparent in many countries, improvident habits, slovenly systems of agriculture, sluggish methods of commerce, and insecurity of property exist wherever the followers of the Prophet rule or live. A degraded sensualism deprives this life of its grace and refinement, the next of its dignity and sanctity. The fact that in Mohammedan law every woman must belong to some man as his absolute property, either as a child, a wife, or a concubine, must delay the final extinction of slavery until the faith of Islam has ceased to be a great power among men. Individual Muslims may show splendid qualities, but the influence of the religion paralyses the social development of those who follow it. No stronger retrograde force exists in the world. Far from being moribund, Mohammedanism is a militant and proselytizing faith. It has already spread throughout Central Africa, raising fearless warriors at every step; and were it not that Christianity is sheltered in the strong arms of science, the science against which it had vainly struggled, the civilization of modern Europe might fall, as fell the civilization of ancient Rome.

I suggest you might want to look up the meaning of “papal infallibility.”

It doesn’t mean that everything he says is correct. If he says Hillary will win the election, it doesn’t mean you should bet the farm on it since it is impossible for him to be wrong.
