‘Inclusive’ Canadian Church Debates Suitability of Openly Atheist Pastor
Breitbart ^ | 30 Sep 2016 | Thomas D. Williams, Ph.D.

The pastor of West Hill United Church has found herself in the middle of a firestorm ever since she came out publicly as a disbeliever, raising the question of just how far this big Christian tent can stretch. Progressive Christian churches that have adopted inclusivity as their defining virtue find themselves ill-equipped to oust a member, even when that member has overtly rejected the fundamental tenets of the faith.

Why are people who hate Christians and want to destroy Christianity being permitted to infiltrate the leadership of Christian churches?

“Churches” like this will accept anyone and anything, except for people who believe the precepts of Christianity.

Having phonies as church leaders is nothing new, but publicly sanctioning it is.

I worked in the church directory business with every denomination there is. After meeting more pastors/priests than I can count, I can tell you there’s a good chance your pastor/priest doesn’t believe in what you assume he does.

If you don’t believe, you need to be in the pews or out of the church entirely, not the pulpit.

Find. A. Different. Job. An atheist “pastor” isn’t qualified to work in a church.

“They must themselves admit, whether they like it or not, that the church of Christ neither lies nor deceives... Therefore the holy church cannot and may not lie or suffer false doctrine, but must teach nothing except what is holy and true, that is, God’s word alone; and where it teaches a lie it is idolatrous and the whore-church of the devil”
– Martin Luther (LW 41:214).

No, this is the natural result of a church that preaches “inclusion” rather than truth.

Some people think of church as a building. Some think of it as being an organization or club. But a church means a body of believers. Those who don’t believe are not part of a church, even if they go to a building and attend a service and have their name and phone number written down in a registry. Even if they get ordained as pastors, they are still not part of any actual church.

I too have worked with priests and pastors of various denominations and find them to be devoted men of God who have a close relationship with the Lord. They all had different personalities, some easy to engage in conversation and some not so easy, but the common thread was their personal love of God and the church, IMO.
