My husband has had two strokes, one five years ago, causing right ear deafness, and the second one causing very mild speech problems. The audiologist said he would never recover his hearing, but God healed him, and his hearing returned. The second stroke was in September, and he had a few speech therapy sessions. His speech is almost completely back to normal, by the grace of God. And most importantly, he has finally stopped smoking, after a fifty year habit. He gives God all the glory for that, too. I have taken care of many stroke victims, and it’s important to know the signs of stroke. And there are pre-stroke signs, too, such as auditory or visual hallucinations. I had two patients who experienced those, followed by a stroke. God bless you, and even if the doctors give you a bad report, know that God is able to do exceeding abundantly beyond anything we ask or even think.

I'm in my late-50s, and have noticed that a lot of my coevals (some even non-smokers) having been getting strokes recently. How old is your wife?
