Catholic ping!
At the Name of Jesus every knee shall bow,
every tongue confess him King of glory now;
‘tis the Father’s pleasure we should call him Lord,
who from the beginning was the mighty Word.
At his voice creation sprang at once to sight,
all the angel faces, all the hosts of light,
Thrones and Dominations, stars upon their way,
all the heavenly orders, in their great array.
Humbled for a season, to receive a Name
from the lips of sinners, unto whom he came,
faithfully he bore it spotless to the last,
brought it back victorious, when from death he passed;
Bore it up triumphant, with its human light,
through all ranks of creatures, to the central height,
to the throne of Godhead, to the Father’s breast;
filled it with the glory of that perfect rest.
Name him, brothers, name him, with love as strong as death,
but with awe and wonder and with bated breath;
he is God the Savior, he is Christ the Lord,
ever to be worshiped, trusted, and adored.
In your hearts enthrone him; there let him subdue
all that is not holy, all that is not true;
crown him as your Captain in temptation’s hour;
let his will enfold you in its light and power.
Brothers, this Lord Jesus shall return again,
with his Father’s glory with his angel train;
for all wreaths of empire meet upon his brow,
and our hearts confess him King of glory now.
- Caroline Noel, 1870
Oh Lord Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of hell, lead all souls to heaven, especially those who are most in need of your mercy.
Lord show your mercy to the unemployed and help them in finding a job.
I cringe when my son uses the Divine Name as a cussword. I told him the other day, “Stop that! Don’t call on Him unless you WANT Him!”
Definitely grieves the Holy Spirit because it is not coming from Him, but the one who hates. It is the opposite of praise. So many people don’t realize the power of that name and when they use it as a curse, who are they cursing? I would think...themselves!
>So many people dont realize the power of that name<
.
I hope to find out, in a saving way.
This is for you...
I’ll be singing it with you.

And if that isn't love
Then the ocean is dry
There's no stars in the sky
And the little sparrows can't fly
Yeah if that isn't love
Then heaven's a myth
There's no feeling like this
If that isn't love It's got to be love
But that does not relieve you from the responsibility of keeping yourself out of places and situations in which you may be tempted. Or for thinking for yourself. To believe otherwise is begging for disaster.
A catholic post without mention of Mary. I’m impressed.

This is very beautiful! Is it a poem only, or is it a musical lyric? Outstanding.
You don't really resent Good's dearest lady that badly, do you?
“God’s” dearest lady.
The Good Lord!
