**Since the earliest centuries of the Church, the name of Jesus has been invoked to drive out demons and heal the sick.**

More accurately, since the earliest DAYS of the church.........

..**the name of Jesus has been invoked to drive out demons and heal the sick. But above all, it has been called upon to conquer sin, overcome temptation, and grow in holiness.**

Amen!

I have found the words of this article to be very accurate.

Once I was approached by two spirits who presented themselves as the grandparents of the woman I was working with. It was a bit unusual as the knot in my stomach became stronger the closer they came to me.

Suddenly, the words came from my mouth (but not from me) “Do you believe that Jesus Christ was born in the flesh?”

The two spirits answered, “We know Jesus.”

The words from my mouth stated in response, “That was not the question.” and repeated the previous question again.

The spirit’s blue eyes turned to black and then to red as their true nature came apparent. They were imitators, trying to trick me.

I had never read 1 John 4:1 prior to that day. In fact it was a month later that I stumbled onto it for the first time.

Since then I have used that phrase frequently and have also found that merely rebuking unwanted temptation thoughts arriving in my head in the name of Jesus also pushes them away. Truly as Jesus stated, if we are “One with Him”, then Our Father that is in Him is also in us.

1John 4 Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. 2 This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God: Every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, 3 but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming and even now is already in the world.

What is comes down to is that satan is trying to trick us to be on his team. If we proclaim that we are on Jesus’ team, satan knows that he must keep his distance or be destroyed.

In 2008 I met a retired soldier who had done many horrible deeds in his life. I’m pretty sure he was from the Fayetteville NC area. When he was on the operating table at Duke University Hospital having his lung removed, he died, left his body, and had to face up to his deeds.

At the moment of his death, even under anesthesia, he screamed out loud “Jesus, Save me” and was thrust back into his body. He had been flatlined for some time and the Dr’s had been trying to revive him.

I haven’t seen this man for several several years. He spoke at an International Association of Near Death Studies (IANDS) conference in Durham NC in 2008. He even had the letters from the Duke physicians verifying the event.

At the time of the event he was 68 years old and he was told during his death experience that he would return and live for ten more years.
