As is well known, the position of the Russian church on homosexuality is unwaveringly traditional (read here for a detailed account of the Russian Church's answers to typical pro-gay arguments).
In this video, Metropolitan Hilarion Alfeev, an incredibly influential and intelligent Russian bishop, speaks of the widening gap between traditional morality, as preached by the Russian church, and the modern Protestant churches that are experiencing extreme liberalization.
Some Protestant churches, where it is now common to have pastors that identify as gay or rewrite prayers to insert 'gender-neutral pronouns' are gradually losing all semblance of traditional Christianity. Meanwhile, Russian church remains unwavering in its adherence to traditional moral norms, despite the international social clamour of liberals for reform.
Bishop Hilarion advises the faithful from churches which start pushing propaganda that is essentially non-Christian to on no account agree to this destructive tendency, for it may cost them everything.

What if the church [Roman Catholic] just covers up the problem?
A new Vatican as well. Pope says there is no hell? So Hitler is in heaven with Mother Theresa? Hillary will be in heaven with my grandma who devoted her life to the homeless? Mel Gibsons father Hutton was right about Vatican II.
The “no hell” thing was misquoted. An atheist was being quoted in that statement.
Get the truth, please.
In fairness (I am no fan of Frank) he did not suggest everyone gets to Heaven (universalism). Rather he appears to be an annihilationist. He believes that the souls of the unrepentant are destroyed. That’s still heresy, but of a different flavor.
Sorry, I just got that info from the media but you are right, the media likes to put forth fake news today. What do you mean, he was quoting an atheist?
Neither Frank nor the Holy See have issued a clear denial. The Vatican did issue one of its famous non-denial denials. But the bottom line is nobody has stated that Frank was misquoted. They said he might not have been quoted accurately which is a looong way from a denial. And if the Pope was accused of uttering heresy and it was a false accusation I have no doubt that they would have been as clear as distilled water in their denial. And this is not the first time it has been claimed that he holds these views.
I probably wouldn’t even stay until the service ended.
What is his view of Abortion in Russia?
Another reason for the globalists & NeoCon (social libs) to hate Russia, as if they needed more.
Amen
Absolutely.
But if a Romans 1:18-32 process is already so far underway that homosexuals aren’t just in the door but are basically setting doctrine is it really likely that someone will bolt?
Remember, human beings aren’t like proverbial frogs in frying pans. Frogs are incapable of adjusting their expectations to their environment. They jump out. Humans, on the other hand, can make excuses, make up reasons why the added heat isn’t a bad thing. People can accommodate the bad so long as the bad sets in slow enough that they can convince themselves they’re still comfortable.
In short: humans can compromise themselves to death, and the on ramps to the broad way that leads to destruction can be so subtle that folks can likely compromise their way into even a depraved heart with scarcely a whimper of realization.
Someone who is aware that a battle has been joined can resist the demands to compromise. If they can win over others the congregation can survive but if instead the invaders win converts then it seems more likely that those still fighting against the arrogation of doctrine will be forced out and shunned well before they might decide to leave.
I’ve seen this as I’ve encountered people online that are now blunt in their belief that sound doctrine is loathsome. Even something illegitimate for civilized people to hold to.
There is, you see, a likely corollary to Roman 1:18-32 and it is this: that those who approve of these things Scripture speaks of will inherently disapprove of those who don’t agree with them. That depraved people will actively hate not just righteous folks but anyone who resist their depravity. Of course they may be able to hide it if they are talented deceivers.
Both he and the Russian Orthodox Church are staunchly pro-life.

They are hard against it, seeking a total ban, and seeking a law where clergy staffs crisis pregnancy counseling centers at hospitals. They are also against euthanasia.
Fixed.
Churches can’t take moral stands,
If the did they’d lose too many homosexuals donations,
Can’t do that now can we?
Agreed.

Why, my church teaches exactly what the word of God tells us. If a church member is engaging in active, open sexual sin then the most loving thing to do is to banish them from the Church in the hopes this will lead the person to repentance and save their soul. Any other questions?
