Sometimes there are what I think are called, “coffee” or “caffeine” growths in the breasts. They are usually harmless and need not be removed. My wife has had them for more than 30 years. She is in her 80s.
Be that as it may, some doctors want the money so that they recommend removal. Be careful with your doctor’s advice. Getting a second opinion is always a good idea.
Best to move swiftly with surgical removal, and the nearest lymph nodes as well.
Genetic analysis of the particular cancer (after it is removed by surgery) can reveal which treatments are most effective against that particular type. Genetic analysis may not be routinely done, and could cost extra.
In some cases, it might be best to remove both breasts, and replace with implants. In some cases, the cancer is particularly receptive to sex hormones, and prescribing tamoxifen is indicated.
If radiation is indicated, you should re-arrange your Summertime activities around the surgery-radiation schedule. If your insurance is not very strong, there could be a big financial burden to manage.
Prayers up for a good outcome.
Prayers....for healing....for your dear wife.
Prayers for your wife, you, and all who are impacted by this situation.
I forgot to add mh wife’s name is Jane thank you for asking.
My Mom and Grandmother both were taken by this monster. Early detection is the key. Medicine is getting better every day to fight it.
Prayers are on the way!
Be strong and steadfast; have no fear or dread of them, for it is the LORD,
your God, who marches with you;
He will never fail you or forsake you.
Deuteronomy 31:6
Offering my prayers as well.
Prayers up for both of you!!
Very sorry to hear.. prayers up!!
I will be praying for Jane and you.
Prayer Bump
Keep a positive outlook. There are a lot of options, and a lot of them work. They have the treatment algorithms down pretty well...keep your chin up. I have prayed for both of you.
Having been through a breast cancer diagnosis and mastectomy in 2014, my opinion is to put aside your summer plans and deal with the cancer issue as directed by the surgeon. IF he/she says, “ASAP”, then ASAP it is.
I will definitely pray. I credit prayer with my positive (so far) outcome.
I have a close friend who is dealing with her second Stage 4 breast cancer. It’s rough.
Prayers up, the odds are greatly in your favor, and with God in the mix looking better still.
God Bless!
Praying!
Kevin, so very sorry to hear this...I will be keeping you in my prayers!
May I suggest 2 things...first please get a second opinion. My aunt was diagnosed with breast cancer and told she would need a mastectomy. She got a second opinion and it was not cancer at all. Same thing happened to my sister - she was told she had lung cancer. They set up all the appointments to begin chemo and such. She went and got a second opinion and it actually was a lung infection. CLeared up with massive dose of antibiotics. SO just be sure.
Second, please watch “The Science of Fasting” on AMazon Prime. My daughter did her dissertation on fasting— going through chemo and such for cancer has massive benefit- well worth watching!
EDIT— I was trying to say fasting prior to chemo has MASSIVE BENEFIT. Please watch “Science of Fasting” on Amazon Prime.
