CRU, which used to be Campus Crusade for Christ has been on a liberal drift for quite some time. Like seemingly all Christian ministries, the spirit of the age with LGBTQ issues seems to be more than the organization could stand.
And now, if you don't agree with this Christian organization's positions on rainbow issues then you're going to have a tough time.
One of the nation's largest campus ministries has dismissed two longtime employees who publicly questioned the way it addresses theological issues surrounding sexuality and gender. Uriah and Marissa Mundell, who live and work in Austin, voiced their concern over Cru's policies in a WORLD story published Feb. 22. Two weeks later, the organization formerly known as Campus Crusade for Christ terminated their employment.
Yeah, they were fired for standing for their Christian convictions.
Originally, they were told that the difference in opinion wasn't going to prevent them from being employed. But since their disagreement became public the Mundells were axed by the "Christian" organization.
Last year, after completing the ministry's new mandatory sexuality training, the Mundells, who are both 42, said they raised concerns with their supervisors, the human resources department, and other Cru leaders, including the director of theological development, Keith Johnson. Each time, they said, their concerns were dismissed.
The Mundells questioned whether it is Scriptural for Cru to allow staff to adopt LGBT identity labels — including identifying as "gay Christian" or using a person's preferred pronouns — and to refer to same-sex attraction as a "disordering of sexual desire," not sin.
Yeah, that's a firable offense for CRU. Fired for being unwilling to compromise and taking a loving and compassionate position towards LGBT individuals.
Allie Beth Stuckey did an episode all about CRU's compromise on LGBTQ+, you can watch it here.
However, this is a little late to the party as Jon Harris has been ringing the alarm bell on CRU for years.
It's just so sad to see more and more Christian organizations decline and fail this way.

So long CRU...
You used to pretend to support Trump and Maga.
And you’re equating “China”. ie Chinese Communist Party, is absurd.
yes. disappointing for CRU and other so called ‘christian’ organizations. they smear the Good Name of Jesus, and they will someday answer the Answer for it.
but no reason for a Christian to lose hope or faith in the true Church. because, thank God, the Church comprising the Body of Christ is not a ‘organization’ and never will be.
Christianity is not a religion, it’s The Way. and it’s not a dead organization, it’s a living Organism.
Gay people should create their own church since their real religion is ‘being gay’.
I voted for Donald Trump every time since the April 2016 Primary I just don’t consider him perfect. G-d is as I see it.
My wife and I met at a Campus Crusade meeting and we both ended up helping lead the college chapter.
We support a couple who are doing marvelous work leading Muslims to Christ in Northern Africa. They will be in the States soon for a furlough and we’re hoping to meet up.
While I hate the idea of a Christian ministry buying into the homo agenda, in most organizations, ministries, businesses etc, only certain people are authorized to make public comments. I suspect they were fired for breaking the agreement they made to not publish, not necessarily for the position they took.
I was once asked to do a segment of a national radio show discussing some of the products my company makes. A couple people in the Marketing Department didn’t like that I stepped in on their parade and made a big deal about it. (My job is representing the company in public and stage events, so they didn’t really have much to object about)
The “falling away” continues unabated
My guess is that lawyers are involved
It was inevitable once they took the Name of Christ out of their name ...
So sad. CRU led me to Christ in 1966 then rooted & grounded me in the fundamentals of the gospel, “Jesus is Lord!”, justification, sanctification, Romans, evangelism & much more when I joined staff a year later.
I was one of millions of college students both led to Christ and strongly discipled to Him by God’s servants in CRU - some great men of God who truly loved the Lord and were truly Christ-centered.
But spiritual entropy is a law - all things born of God decay spiritually over time. ALL THINGS. It is seen from Genesis to Revelation. Every move of God eventually is taken over by first the flesh (man), then the enemy.
I believe when God initiates something, Satan sets his sights on it and says, “I’m going to get that for myself. It may take a long, long time, but I’m in no hurry.”
What he ends up is a handful of nothing. The Lord moves on, never trapped. His people move on. Rev. 3:20 is not a salvation message - but the Lord on the OUTSIDE OF HIS CHURCH (ponder that for a bit) - having been driven out - knocking to see if anyone who has driven Him out, will let Him back in.
Individuals do. Groups do not.
This is the cycle of fallen man - that will continue until He comes.
“Come, Lord Jesus, Come!”
The Wolves in sheep’s clothing have taken over some institutions.
I spell "Sodomy" with a capital-S because it is the name of a religion.
“ I voted for Donald Trump every time since the April 2016 Primary”
And now you’re working against him and the United States and for communist totalitarianism.
What did you get to sell your soul?
Many who were considered trusted leaders will fall away. When the persecution really starts, the average church will dwindle from 300 to 15, just like it did under Communist Russia. Prepare to stand alone.
