A three-judge panel in the Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit has vacated the New York law banning the carry of firearms in church, citing the First Amendment. After the June 22, 2022, publishing of the Bruen decision on the Second Amendment, several states took active measures to defy the Supreme Court. The foremost of these was New York. Governor Kathy Hochul took the extreme measure of convening an extraordinary session dedicated to circumventing the Bruen decision, which she called “reckless and reprehensible.” From ny.gov:“The Supreme Court’s reckless and reprehensible decision to strike down New York’s century-old concealed carry law...

According to an April report released by watchdog group OpenTheBooks.com, the Internal Revenue Service has spent $10 million since 2020 on guns, ammunition, and other tactical gear in an effort to militarize the agency. The report revealed that the IRS and 102 other agencies outside the Department of Defense invested a combined total of $3.7 billion since 2006 – adjusted for inflation – on weapons, ammunition, and military-style equipment. OpenTheBooks.com stated that 76 of the 102 are rank-and-file regulatory agencies, such as the Environmental Protection Agency, Social Security Administration, Veterans Affairs, and Health and Human Services. “There are now more...

Federal agencies such as the Internal Revenue Service and the Environmental Protection Agency have spent nearly $4 billion in taxpayer funds on guns, ammunition, and other "military-style equipment," a watchdog group found. Since 2006, "76 rank-and-file agencies" outside "traditional law enforcement entities" or the Department of Defense spent $3.7 billion on "guns, ammunition, and military-style equipment," according to watchdog group Open the Books's summary of its report. These agencies include the National Institutes of Health, NASA, the Environmental Protection Agency, and the Small Business Administration, among others that historically have played little to no role in law enforcement activities. Federal...

Left their families Sacrificed everything in Cuba - they left everything behind friends, neighborhood, job To come to this country where we are sitting in now. Biden's 'guns first' approach to violent crime ignores basic facts

With violent crime increasing over the last two years, Americans want a solution. But resident Joe Biden constantly frames violent crime as only a gun problem. Again, it was the sole focus of Biden's speech in New York City on Thursday. Even when he mentions police or prosecutors, it was in terms of enforcing gun control laws. But this "guns first" approach ignores a basic fact – over 92% of violent crimes in America do not involve firearms. And while Biden blames guns for the increase in violent crime, the latest data show that gun crimes fell dramatically. Biden's proposal...

"Between the huge sums aimed directly at enforcement activities and operations support, expect a large majority of the $88 billion of new IRS funding to directly or indirectly support things like asset monitoring, audits, taxpayer investigations, and legal actions against taxpayers," they continue. "On the issue of enforcement actives and operations support," Americans for Tax Reform is reminding taxpayers the IRS already has substantial authority and power. This includes ownership of thousands of guns and agents who can be deployed to use them. The IRS has stockpiled 4,600 guns and five million rounds of ammunition as of Jan. 1, 2019...

OUR CHARLESTON DISPATCHES. Fort Sumpter has returned the fire, and a brisk cannonading has been kept up. No information has been received from the seaboard yet. The military are under arms, and the whole of our population are on the streets. Every available space facing the harbor is filled with anxious spectators. CHARLESTON, Friday, April 12. Self-Defense Guns for the First Time Gun Owner

Yes, options are almost limitless and hardcore gun enthusiasts will have their own takes, but what are some of the simplest, most foolproof weapons for newbies looking to protect themselves and/or their family? In these troubled times, many people are buying guns for the first time in their life, but the needs of the casual gun owner are different from the experienced shooter. They need the simplest and most foolproof weapon, not the most advanced expert's weapon. Most first-time gun buyers are probably doing so to defend themselves and their family, and if they end up using it, they will...

A man from Deerfield Beach, Florida, faces a potential of five years in prison after being convicted for defying the state’s “red flag” law, which allows authorities to confiscate weapons from those deemed to be at high risk of committing a crime. The case is the first conviction under the state’s relatively new gun law, which was passed in part as a response to the horrific mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida. Since the red flag law went into effect in March 2018, Florida has seized guns from over 2,000 residents of the state. But...

NY schools first to have 'red flag' petition power on guns

Schools across New York began the academic year with a new tool intended to prevent student suicides and violence: the ability to ask a court to remove a troubled person's access to firearms. About a third of U.S. states have so-called "red flag" laws, which allow courts to temporarily seize guns from people believed to be a danger to themselves or others, but New York is the first to empower schools to petition a court themselves for such an order, rather than go through local law enforcement. In New York, school principals are now allowed to petition the court for...

Kirsten Gillibrand Wants to Confiscate Guns

First Let me clarify that when Kirsten Gillibrand says she wants to ban Assault Weapons she means AR-15’s. Unfortunately, a lot of politicians like Gillibrand think the AR in AR15 stands for Assault Rifle, which it doesn’t it stands for Arma Lite Rifle, but she doesn’t care because her job right now is to prove to the world how anti-gun she is. Because she’s like a dying fish on land, flipping and flopped all of the place struggling to get some air for her failing campaign. Keep America Tactical

President Donald Trump has certainly brought some welcome relief to Americans in the form of curbing federal regulations, but he has a lot more to do — as do his Cabinet appointees — in terms of, shall we say, ‘defanging’ several agencies. They include the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and others that have been weaponized, literally, to ‘deal with’ — not serve — the American people. As Conservative Review reports, the IRS itself has 15 “submachine guns” and some 5 million rounds of ammunition on hand, but the tax collection agency is far from the...

USS Zumwalt (DDG-1000) has been undergoing trials and combat systems outfitting in and around her home port of San Diego. The ship's metamorphosis into an operational combat ship is something we have been following closely. Recently, we reported on additions to her stealthy frame that would only hurt the size of radar signature. These included an exposed mast and a number of communications aerials bolted directly onto her deckhouse instead of being integrated into it seamlessly. Now, a new photo shows her fitted with twin 30mm Bushmaster cannons for the very first time. The Zumwalt class, as we know it...

The Internal Revenue Service had in its weapons inventory 4,487 guns and 5,062,006 rounds of ammunition as of late 2017, according to a report published this month by the Government Accountability Office. Included in this arsenal, according to the GAO, were 15 “fully automatic firearms” and 56,000 rounds of ammunition for those fully automatic firearms. The same report--"Federal Law Enforcement: Purchases and Inventory Controls of Firearms, Ammuntion, and Tactical Equipment"--says that the Office of the Inspector General of the Department of Health and Human Services had 194 fully automatic firearms and 386,952 rounds of ammunition for those fully automatic firearms.

Judge Robert S. Lasnik, United States District Judge of the Western District of Washington, at Seattle, issued a permanent injunction against the Trump Administration State Department. The injunction is to prevent the State Department from implementing a court settlement with Defense Distributed, allowing them to exercise their First Amendment rights. The permanent injunction was issued on the 27th of August, 2018, in Seattle, Washington State. The temporary restraining order had been issued on 31 July. Judge Lasnik has taken the power of deciding what may or may not be lawful, based on the principle of potential harm. Potential, or irreparable...

Gun control advocates don’t just have a problem with the Second Amendment – they also have real problems with the First Amendment. In an era when people can use 3D metal printers to make guns, does the First Amendment protect a book detailing a gun-manufacturing process – but not a computer file that does the same thing?

Gun control advocates don’t just have a problem with the Second Amendment – they also have real problems with the First Amendment. In an era when people can use 3D metal printers to make guns, does the First Amendment protect a book detailing a gun manufacturing process – but not computer file that does the same thing? The question has become particularly urgent. The computer programs that tell 3D printers how to produce these guns are scheduled to be legally downloadable Wednesday. Late Monday, Democratic attorneys general in eight states and the District of Columbia filed for an emergency injunction...
