Prince William and the Canadian D-Day Veterans

Today I watched the D-Day ceremonies on Canadian TV. It's not that I'm a fan of CBC, but it was difficult to find a US broadcast that was not delayed, edited and polished by liberal sycophants. And to be even more honest, I could not stomach hearing Joe Biden making a "heartfelt" speech on such sacred ground before he pooped his pants. The Canadian ceremony included Justine Turd-oh, Prince William and the PM of France, Gabriel Attal. All went pretty well. When the ceremony was over. the 3 dignitaries started to shake hands with each of the 13 Normandy vets present....

Biden Raises Eyebrows At D-Day Ceremony, Gets Escorted Away As Macron Greets Veterans

President Joe Biden raised eyebrows while attending the 80th anniversary of the D-Day invasion in Normandy, France — and then apparently had to be escorted away from the festivities while French President Emmanuel Macron remained on-site to greet the veterans. At one point during the ceremonies, Biden appeared confused about whether he was supposed to remain standing or sit down, resulting in an awkward half-squat as he looked behind him to see where the chair might be. First lady Jill Biden, who quickly raised one hand in front of her mouth, seemed like she could be feeding him directions. Awkward...

Three veterans slammed former President Trump as a “draft dodger” and argued he is unfit to be commander in chief in a new video from President Biden’s reelection campaign unveiled Thursday, marking the 80th anniversary of the D-Day landings. Marine Corps veteran Curtis Register, Army veteran Ed McCabe and Navy veteran Matthew McLaughlin participated in the minutelong video, which was intended to “highlight the stark contrast between Donald Trump, who criticizes veterans and has refused to take accountability or attend military funerals, and President Biden, who stands with our troops abroad and takes care of them at home,” according to...

An investigation has been launched after a veterans memorial was vandalized in California, shocking locals who celebrate at the site every year. The memorial is located in Morgan Hill, a small city near San Francisco. It's a popular downtown gathering place, hosting services on Memorial Day and Veterans Day. Early on Sunday morning, locals discovered that the US flag hanging at the site had been burned and a plaque had been defaced. The perpetrator remains unknown but the Morgan Hill Police Department suspects that the attack occured overnight on Saturday and said that officers are continuing their investigation, according to...

‘Squad’ Members Ilhan Omar, Cori Bush Confuse Memorial Day with Veterans Day

“Squad” members Reps. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) and Cori Bush (D-MO) appeared to confuse Memorial Day — a day to honor fallen American service members — with Veterans Day, a day to honor those who have served. Omar posted on X from her congressional account: On #MemorialDay, we honor the heroic men and women who served our country. We owe them more than our gratitude — they have more than earned access to quality mental health services, job opportunities, housing assistance, and the benefits they were promised. Bush posted on her congressional X account: This #MemorialDay & every day, we honor...

Why did a powerful veterans' PAC endorse Harry Dunn, phony ‘hero’ of January 6?

Juan Dominguez, a West Point graduate and Gulf War veteran, is unhappy about the VoteVets political action committee’s decision to endorse former U.S. Capitol Police Officer Harry Dunn. Unlike Dominguez and at least two other candidates in the crowded Democratic primary race for Maryland’s 3rd Congressional District, Dunn is not a military veteran. VoteVets describes itself as a progressive political action committee that “endorses veterans and national security professionals” who champion “everyday issues that affect the lives of those who served, their families, and the country.” In a phone interview with Blaze Media, Dominguez shared his frustrations with VoteVets’ endorsement...

'Equity' means realizing 'treating everybody the same might not be enough,' VA official Shawn Liu says .. Joe Biden's Department of Veterans Affairs is offering race-based training programs and workshops that exclude white veterans—programs that one legal expert says are "of dubious constitutionality and legality." The programs are taking place in at least four states, a Washington Free Beacon review of online offerings found. In Battle Creek, Mich., for example, the VA offers a "BIPOC Support Group," an "8-week curriculum designed to provide support for Veterans that identify as people of color/BIPOC, or as multiracial or biracial," according to a...

The Supreme Court just quietly handed a huge win to veterans

The Supreme Court recently decided on a case you might not have heard about. Its underreported landmark ruling about the GI Bill could have a massive positive effect on America’s veterans, our communities and our nation for years to come. Earlier this month, the highest court in the land issued a 7-2 ruling that the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) improperly calculated GI Bill benefits for retired Army Captain James Rudisill, who now works in federal law enforcement. Like so many others before him, Rudisill had separated from the military and wanted to use the educational benefits that we all...

Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, is pressing the Department of Veterans Affairs on why the agency lost out on as much as $805 million that could have been used to serve veterans. The department’s “bureaucratic right hand didn’t know what the left hand was doing, and our veterans have paid the price,” Grassley asserted in an April 17 letter to VA Secretary Denis McDonough. “The VA hasn’t kept its promise to make swift improvements that would bring millions of dollars back to the agency and allow it to maximize funding for veterans’ health care,” Grassley told The Daily Signal on Thursday....

All but two Massachusetts House Democrats voted against an amendment to provide statewide shelter priority to U.S. military veterans over migrants. On Friday, all 25 Massachusetts state House Republicans were joined by two others across the aisle in voting for Amendment 698 as part of House Bill 4600. The amendment introduced by Republican Minority Leader Bradley Jones, titled "Homeless Veterans Prioritization for Shelter Assistance," failed on a 27-129 roll call vote. 01:17 Massachusetts Asks Citizens to Take in Migrants Amid State of Emergency By Nick Mordowanec Staff Writer FOLLOW 72 All but two Massachusetts House Democrats voted against an amendment...

Veterans are reacting to a new cancer study done on contaminated drinking water at a military base in the east. “Was asking for this study to come out months long, but the Department of Justice said it wasn’t ready and hasn’t been peer-reviewed,” said Camp Lejeune advocate, Jason Johns. “Clearly it has as it is showing the right data and enforcing what many people have known for decades.” A new cancer study released Wednesday, says that military personnel stationed at Camp Lejeune from 1975 to 1985 had at least a 20% higher risk for a range of cancers compared to...

House Democrats on Friday defeated a Republican bid to restrict migrants’ access to the state’s overflowing emergency family shelter system, a day after the Legislature shipped a supplemental budget to Gov. Maura Healey that would impose a new nine-month limit on shelter stays. With House Speaker Ron Mariano at the rostrum, lawmakers rejected amendments from Rep. Paul Frost that aimed to install a three-month residency requirement for family shelter and to prioritize Massachusetts residents on the shelter waitlist. Lawmakers rejected Amendment 1393, emergency housing assistance requirements, on a 30-127 roll call vote, and they rejected Amendment 1394, prioritizing Massachusetts residents...

Boston plan to house migrants at former veterans’ shelter is slammed as ‘disgusting’

A plan to turn a former Boston-area veterans’ home into a shelter for hundreds of migrants has been slammed as “disgusting” by local residents, who say Massachusetts’ services should instead go to the nation’s heroes. Democratic Gov. Maura Healey announced last week she would convert the historic Chelsea Soldiers’ Home — which was vacant and scheduled for demolition — into a site for 100 migrant families and pregnant women, the Boston Herald reports. But the proposal comes as veterans continue to face homelessness in the state, with 545 vets experiencing homelessness on a single night in 2023, according to US...

Democrat lawmakers in the House signed a joint letter suggesting infringements on certain veterans’ Second Amendment Rights because of a “mentally incompetent” diagnosis from Veterans Affairs (VA) rating agencies. The current regulation regarding VA pensions, 38 CFR 3.353, defines “mentally incompetent” as “A…person is one who because of injury or disease lacks the mental capacity to contract or to manage his or her own affairs, including disbursement of funds without limitation.” The “official determination” of mental incompetency is made by the VA rating agencies, who have “sole authority” in making such a determination. According to the regulation, the determination is...

Over 140 House Democrats Demand Ability to Block Veterans from Purchasing Guns

More than 140 House Democrats are demanding that the ability to bar veterans from gun purchases/ownership under certain circumstances be added back to the Military Construction, Veterans Affairs, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act. For decades, the VA has been reporting veterans to the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) for mental issues, and such issues include using a fiduciary to manage one’s VA benefits. But this year, the Clinton-area gun ban was rolled back in the Senate by an amendment put forward by Sen. John Kennedy (R-LA).

Department of Veterans Affairs is removing many of its restrictions regarding IVF benefits, allowing unmarried veterans and those in same-sex relationships access to expanded care for the first time. Current law requires all veterans using the VA's IVF services to be unable to procreate without the help of fertility treatments because of a health condition caused by their military...

WASHINGTON DC, March 8 — Not long ago, many of us greeted veterans and active-duty soldiers, sailors and marines with a heartfelt “thank for your service.” It made us feel good. But perhaps it should make us feel sad now that HUD, the Department of Housing and Urban Development, is reporting that there’s been a 7.4% increase in veteran homelessness. According to the Epoch Times, it means that “nearly 13 percent of the homeless adult population are veterans.” Yet, the newspaper notes, “national, state, and local governments continue to spend billions of dollars to house, feed, clothe, and provide medical...

In one of the largest-ever expansions of Veteran health care, all Veterans exposed to toxins and other hazards during military service—at home or abroad—are now eligible for VA health care. At the direction of President Biden, VA is expanding health care eligibility to millions of Veterans, including all Veterans who served in the Vietnam War, the Gulf War, Iraq, Afghanistan or any other combat zone after 9/11, years earlier than called for by the PACT Act. These Veterans will be eligible to enroll directly in VA health care without first applying for VA benefits. Additionally, Veterans who never deployed but...
