Republicans have enough votes to confirm President Donald Trump’s next Supreme Court nominee, Senate Judiciary Chairman Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) said late Monday. “We’ve got the votes to confirm Justice Ginsburg’s replacement before the election,” Graham said during an appearance on Fox News’ “Hannity.” “We’re going to move forward in the committee, we’re going to report the nomination out of the committee to the floor of the United States Senate so we can vote before the election. That’s the constitutional process,” he added.

Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg and the late Justice Antonin Scalia were honored Monday by Allegheny College in Pennsylvania. During a speech she gave at the event, Justice Ginsburg described Senator Lindsey Graham as one of the “women of the Senate.” Justice Ginsburg gave a brief talk about civility and her friendship with the late Justice Scalia. She then made an implied contrast between the era in which she and Scalia were confirmed and the present day. “I thought back to the 1993 confirmation of my nomination to the court,” she said. She continued, “The hearing was altogether civil....

"I thought back to the 1993 confirmation of my nomination to the court—the hearing was altogether civil, the vote was 96 to 3. For Justice Scalia, the vote was unanimous," Ginsburg said. "Let's hope members of Congress, the members that Allegheny College has already honored — Vice President Joe Biden and Senator John McCain, the women of the Senate, Senators Dianne Feinstein and Lindsey Graham — let's hope that they and others of goodwill will lead in restoring harmonious work ways." Ruth Bader Ginsburg

Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg erroneously labeled South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham as one of the "women of the Senate" on Monday. Ginsburg's misstatement came in her remarks upon accepting an Allegheny College award given to her and the late Justice Antonin Scalia for civility in public life. Hours after Justice Neil Gorsuch was sworn in to replace Scalia, Ginsburg took to the podium in calling on lawmakers to work together, but mistakenly identified South Carolina's senior senator as a woman. "I thought back to the 1993 confirmation of my nomination to the court—the hearing was altogether civil, the vote was...

Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg and the late Justice Antonin Scalia were honored with Allegheny College’s Prize for Civility in Public Life in Washington Monday. During her remarks at the ceremony, Ginsburg pointed to her and Scalia’s confirmation to the court, adding she hopes “members of Congress… and others of goodwill will lead the way in restoring harmonious work ways.” Ginsburg further pointed out two other sets of Allegheny’s honorees. “Vice President Joe Biden and Sen. John McCain” and the “women of the Senate, Senators Dianne Feinstein and Lindsey Graham.”
